It's nice to see creators referring and linking to other creators here on the platform.

Strangely enough, I updated my Omen 16 7840hs/4060 to 24H2. I did not gain frames, but in MW3, AC Walhalla, Tiny Tina and CS2 my temps dropped about 10% (85 -> 76/78) so I could increase the framerate.

Why does everyone say "Windows update gives more fps" in titles without specifying it's only AMD?

Still funny to see the ol RX 6800M I'm using chilling at the bottom of some of your graphs. My ROG Strix AE is still absolutely slaying with maintenence and a RAM upgrade and its still impressive to see how much more performance is possible.

Hey there Jarrod - THANK YOU for doing this video. I had commented to others about this very question and I'm glad to see you did the testing. Sure, I'll install the update just because it's an update, but I won't hold my breath for any "major" CPU gains.

Thanks again,
Rick

A bit disappointed by this video when you say you're not willing to test X things because "most people won't do it". I was waiting for you to test those things to see if it was worth it to fresh install for example, that's what I was expecting when I clicked on that video

Lenovo Legion Slim 5 user here. I'm deeply disappointed knowing there won't be any gains after the update. Thanks for testing this. Liked.

I see this situation not as "Windows update gives free performance", but as "Microsoft finally fixes a multi-year-old bug crippling generations of AMD CPUs, making Windows performance finally comparable to Linux".

I wish someone would finally include Win 10 in those tests.
50.16% of PCs on Steam are still on Win 10.
Overall Win 10's market share is still 68%.
Common guys, more than half of gamers want to know.

How timely that the Mid-Range laptop tested in this vid is the same one I’m getting right now

Happy to see the performance boost, even if it’s a very tiny boost 😅

The full 24H2 seems to have even more performance, and especially when turning VBS off. See Hardware Canucks's video on this.

Any improvements made for cpu performance is well welcomed when talking about my ryzen 3 2200g paired with a rtx 3070 and not being able to overclock because of motherboard limitations.

My top tip for running my gaming laptop cooler: I moved to Scotland. Trust me, 30 degrees less ambient temperature makes a big difference.

It would be nice to see the GPU utilization to confirm if it's truly GPU bound even at 1080p so no more performance gains
