Thanks to ASUS for sending me this ROG Ally X Review unit to check out! This new updated model of the ROG Ally offers numerous improvements to not only the ergonomics, buttons, and sticks, but also some internal boosts as well like RAM and Internal Storage. Lets go over all the changes this one has compared to the original, whether or not the improvements are worth the increased price point, and ultimately if you're looking for a PC Handheld if this one is going to be a good fit for you. Make sure to subscribe to not miss out on the upcoming comparison to the Steam Deck OLED!

It’s like 200 degrees outside and this gentleman is wearing a beanie.

Asus: you’ve touched this, your warranty is void, thank you.

Ive love my Rog Ally! Great performance and as long as you treat it as a PC then you'll be very happy. 99% of my "bugs" were user error. Like turning the fps limiter on AFTER loading a game vs doing it BEFORE. You have to do it before you boot the game for it to activate.

$800 without an OLED screen is kinda crazy. albeit the steam deck is less powerful, but it even having an oled screen at $250 cheaper

I have the first release steam deck and really curious if this is worth the upgrade. The only real downside for me right now is missing out on some of my FPS games while travelling.

I can’t wait to get the Ally x. Seems like the best out there

I already have a 2023 Rog Ally, Steam Deck OLED, Lenovo Legion Go, I just bought the Ally X yesterday I'm "upgrading" because of the bigger 80wh battery, faster and more RAM 24GB LPDDR5X running at 7500MT/s, I also prefer the black colour over the original white Ally. I love these handheld PC's if you can afford it go for the X although the OG Ally is still a solid device heck you could even save some cash going with the Z1 Ally. I went with the Z1 Extreme model. I love these devices they are so cool.

I just hope some 3rd parties will make an OLED replacement screen and it would be perfect.

Kevin is there anyway you could do a deep dive into the joysticks differences like the travel compared to a ps5 controller as these handhelds do t seem to have e the same range so your muscle memory playing on console controllers is off when using a handheld x

Og ally screen gets warm after 30 mins of gaming. ASUS put this extra vent on top to reduce the heat on the display. Can you confirm if the screen still gets really warm or the vent helps?

If it's "not replacement" to the previous version, then do I need both? Is there "addition" for people that own both?
Yes, it is replacement dude

I'd probably get this since I'm still debating on which handheld to get. I truly hate the OLED displays since darker games are so dark and it ruins the experience. Vs the Legion, I think the Ally feels more worth it.

I wish that one on the upgrades was an oled screen for $ 800 that's the right price point but not without an oled

Battery life more than 2 x, due to increased efficiency from the chipset. Confirmed by Phawx.

Asus have a terrible customer support. Buy their products at your own risk. I am a bit surprised that reviewers don't mention the customer support for any hardware reviews.
