I've effectively not been able to grow seeds from spinach twice now. This season went to the garden center and bought two and brought them home woke up in the morning the next day to them having gone to seed. Trying one more time because spinach is a favorite in this household.

Love growing spinach. If you over seed by accident, just eat the baby leaves of the thinned out plants, they are great for salads! No waste and great taste. 🤗

So I didn’t know you can grow them anytime as long as it’s not very hot weather. Well, I’m planting now in the shades on a box planter so I can have some in my salad or soups. Thank you Jeff, another info that I learned today 😊👩‍🌾♥️

Awesome video Jeff. Just picked a bunch of spinach this morning. Here in Zone 6, Western Pa, I'm able to get a 2nd crop in the fall. Just make sure you plant after labor day!!

This will be my first time to grow Spinach. I saw you cut the leaves off. Will they continue to regrow? How many cuttings? Thanks so much and I'm a new subscriber. I LOVE the short but very informative videos. I'm busy and they are the perfect length!
Blessings from my home and garden to yours!

Does spinach freeze (for cooked dishes)? Love these quick to the point vids.

Great video as always. I have a question about snap peas. Do you success planting (continues planting)? if so, how and how often? That would be great if you do a quick video on it so we can use the info for this growing season.

I wonder how many seeds you get from one plant -- thinking if it would be worthwhile to allow one that's bolting to go completely to seed?

This made me sad. I live in zone 9b (Houston Tx) and I can't even grow spinach indoors. I tried for the first time this past February and it was already too hot (this year's weather has been crazy weird even by Houston's standards). I'll be trying again this fall/winter; we have a really short and untrustworthy cool season (it will go from a high of 40f to 85f back to 50f within as many days), but I'm hoping I can get some spinach in. I love it so much! Are there any "warm" tolerant varieties you recommend that can stand Houston's definition of "warm"? 🤣

With that said, I'm having much better luck growing malabar spinach. It isn't "really" spinach, but it tastes very good and it's also very healthy. And unlike real spinach, it loves the heat! I bought starts from a local nursery as it is very slow to grow from seed (but grows really fast once it gets going). It's a climbing vine so it needs support, but it will climb anything. One plant produces a lot. It's an annual if things get below freezing; plenty of our winters don't, so we'll see how it goes.
