I’ve been meditating almost everyday under the Sam Harris Waking Up app for the past 6 months. 100% the most positive thing I’ve ever done for my mental health. And the biggest mistake you can make is think you’ve learned everything you need to, it’s like working out physically, the practice needs to be sustained for the effects to be.

I meditate since more than a year now, every morning! ahah It's nice! (15-20mins for me)
Usually, I meditate legs cross, on the flour, eyes closed, but appart from that, it's a lot like you.
But sometimes, I meditate laying on my back (shamanic meditation, not sure it's the name in english, but in french yes).
I sometimes meditate twice a day.
Help me with anxiety, depression and even PTSD (a bit)! Also help me with taking cold shower. Help me with all my "inside speech" problems.
There are some exercises :
- closed eyes -> each day, began by feeling your body in the room, in your space. Then, began with the first shakra. You visualize a little bright red light coming from the ground to your lower abs. The first shakra is linked to sexuality (if you need that to know where should be the light). When you inhale, the light is visible, coming inside you. When you exhale, roots from your body go more and more deep into the ground. Each day, you began with the lights you already wroked on, and add another one. The second shakra is orange bright light. It's around you're belly bottom. The light enter from the front (inhale), and go out from the back of your body (exhale) in funnel forms. The third is a yellow bright light, and it's at your solar plexus. The fourth is a green bright light and located at the same level as your heart. The fifth is a blue bright light on your throat. The sixth is a purple bright light on your third eye, ~ between your two eyebrows. And the last one is a white bright light going out the top of your head. It's only getting out.
- you can count your respirations if you need something to help concentrate and/or re-concentrate.
- you can repeat in your head some phrases like mantras (maybe a quote that can help you with something)

Cole Hastings! Have you read the book "Letting go"? It's not stoicism, but it talks about "the letting go technique" and the emotional spectrum. Is a great read! P.S: Love your videos! Keep it up!

i wish everyone would watch I used to make fun of meditating but when i found the right teacher it actually became one of the most essential tools to creating the life i want for myself and my overall peace in existence. What power to be able to find stillness in chaos. So many right it off and wont give it a chance. I tried many meds for years and NoTHiNg brought me the relief meditation did once i became regular and got the hang of it. It's different all the time. Sometimes I can't even feel my body or come out of it relieved of physical pain. not always though. Other times I get questions answered. We're all addicted to distracting ourselves and it shows

I’ve been going 1 hour 2x a day for 4 days so far, same times as your schedule (so I decided to look up a video heheh). I feel way better, received terrible news that my school changed the way it operates so now I have F’s in all my classes. But through meditation I was able to take this surprisingly well and still have hope to graduate this year (this news is actually so unfair). Also feeling more analytical of certain situations, meditation itself feels amazing it’s something I look forward to. I can only see this becoming better as it approaches to the end of the month.

I did the Transcendental Meditation training many years ago. 2x a day for 20 minutes...it was great! I close my eyes & see colors when I’m at that sweet spot. I did feel more ‘peaceful’. Was consistent for about a yr & stopped. I definitley have the time...just need to be consistent. Your experience makes me want to revisit my TM practice.🌼💛

I love it how you talked about stoicism
People around me don’t like the fact that I’m stoic so I kinda changed the fact that I was stoic but I would feel much better as a stoic person
Stoicism is definitely something that I consider you try

I loved this video so much! I learned about meditation in therapy several years ago, it definitely helped with my anxiety and depression too. And I can relate to the feeling of being on psychedelics, that’s definitely happened to me when I’m in a deep state of meditation. That’s why I tell people they don’t necessarily need to take psychedelics, we have the power to do that already, that’s if you allow yourself to tap in of course! :) anyways, looking forward to purchasing your book when you release it!
