Frontal rain losing its intensity with showery outbursts taking precedent over much of central and eastern England, infrequent showery outbreak elsewhere. Clearer skies across much of Scotland and Northern Ireland, giving way to a risk of grass front overnight. - This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the evening of 01/10/24. Always feel like the north/Yorkshire gets far less attention. Monday's insnae rainfall & odd wind from the north caused havoc, had a roofing issue ourselves! All the roofers within a 20 mile radius were jammed packed with no availability. Had you seen the news/met office you'd think nothing happened! A small light amber warning for rain & that's all! Never a nice time to get a chunky roof repair bill, but just before the winter energy price hikes is a bitter thought! Alas, what kind of world are we leaivng for our kids with all this insane weather, whilst at the same time pretending nothing's happening to the climate! Old homes are getting to the age they need more maintance, whilst the new ones are a cheap/shoddy build to start with. Dread to think us going down the yank route building cheap/tatty homes designed to be crushed & rebuilt on the cheap!
