English - Welcome to another train video from Schony747. This video features Victorian Railways Liveried B74 and S303 with a mixed consist of passenger carriages at Southern Cross Station in 2019. There's something special about the sound that comes from the VR B Class Locomotive and S Class Locomotive.

This would have been a typical Victorian Railways scene at Spencer St in the 1980s. There would have been VR Blue and Gold locomotives everywhere and lots of shunting movements.

This train features the Seymour Railway Heritage Centre Royal Train Consist that was returning from Castlemaine to it's base in Seymour. The video features the train arriving on Platform 4. The locomotives then shunt off the train, run around the passenger cars and hook up to the train at the other end. Finally the train departs for Seymour.

The VicRailways B Class is the best looking Diesel Loco in the world, and the sound is
orgasmic, can't get enough.
I remember riding them from Melbourne to Geelong as a kid.
Love em.

The old V.R. ghosts come out to play at night fittingly to once exact their dominance and show the newer variants on how it's really done with the charm and grace that only B74 & S303 can provide. The last of an old era, time changes on, the station does as well but the midnight blue and yellow ghosts don't as their stuck in their own limbo timeline!! And we love it!!!

That dining car with Avoca name on it is the dining car they used on the train in the 1970"s that used to do the school camps that were called the "Train of Knowledge" It would spend a week travelling around Victoria with school kids on it. I remember it well my little brother fell out of the train around Inglewood somewhere, he was lucky a few stitches and some bruising was all he got for his trouble. It was a great excursion they should do stuff like that again and show kids Victorias history from a train.

They were the best looking locos ever made.

From here in the UK, THAT is how I imagined an AUSTRALIAN locomotive to look, when I was a child. Sheer style! Thank goodness you have the same group of dedicated people, who seek to preserve this heritage, as we do here. God bless you all!

There are barely any F series units still running in the US, mostly on tourist lines. Pretty cool to see F units still as the backbone of a rail line, proof that EMD created a solid design that continues to pass the test of time.

Nice to see these locomotives still on the rails, such a well made & durable locomotive.

Nice film.. I've come over from Oscar Paisley's video. This illustrates the prototypes nicely. I remember seeing the VR version of the Hornby model in the Australian catalogue supplement sometime in the mid seventies and finding it quite exciting to see a representation of Australian locos and coaches for the first time (I grew up in Tasmania).

Was great seeing this run from Castlemaine to Bendigo and to see them shunt and store after the special Royal train tour as part of the Royal Gallery Exhibition in Bendigo. Well done to all who set this up as it is a great way to show and share our railway heritage.

I used to love watching these locos come through the tunnel from South Geelong to Geelong Station. It was the beginning of a long love affair of trains!

Those are some sensational units you guys have over there, just like our E and F units here in the states. The sound of those prime movers is so iconic.

Aussie Carbodies and Aussie railroading in general is very underrated! Its the perfect blend of American and English railroading influences. Shame about that massive Gauge difference however. Must make preservation meets very difficult

Why on earth did V Line get rid of the Colour scheme. It was iconic and time proof. I remember watching the Southern Aurora leaving Spencer St in 1970 with the S class on the front . The S class was beautiful & that unmuffled sound was gorgeous.

Great video clip. Surprised that the B & S 567 Combo didn't do a power take-off....that would have woken people up...!
