Ballarat looks so splendid at night, and your first shot of it is a classic. Seeing the Lydiard Street gates is a real bonus. I remember once being stranded by car trouble at Broadford and having to spend the night in my car at the station. The highlight was an up B-hauled freight that could be heard for miles, fighting the gradients. Many thanks for posting.

These two locos and their grain cars are stationed at a Kensington siding where there is a large flour mill. I see them most days when crossing the Kensington Station Level Crossing.

Dynamic braking in the first shot or just particularly loud cooling fans? Those remotely operated crossing gates are fascinating, how nice they weren't replaced with barriers.

Just looked like it didn't have enough speed to get out of Ballarat considering the weight of the loaded wagons & the age of the loco's too they will be working on notch 8 to make that gradient.

Would that goto Melbourne via Bannockburn?
