Is that second lady really complaining about how long it took her to get to her second house in a different state? When there are plenty of Floridians who don't have a second home to retreat to?

Y'all need to move out of Florida permanently. It is only going to get worse, and everyone knows it.

People are complaining like they don’t know that evacuating an entire suburban area would mean lots of traffic

And these are just stories from people that have the resources and finances to even move around

Don't live in Florida. I've been here in Miami since 89, never once left the state. Bunker down or go to an evacuation center. 1st world problems;most ppl dont have another house in another state.

I wonder what the Floridians now think about climate change.

Talk to your Governor for accepting aid from the federal government. Not even answering their calls.

My daughter seems to be more worried about looters than she is about her children. She is in the path, and my grandchildren are in danger. I am angry beyond words.

Why would you buy a house and not do research on what you need to be safe?

Has anyone even thought about the homeless who have no money or cars to get to safety. Pray for them and all the people in hospitals and nursing homes who cant be moved and have ride out this deadly storm.

And of course they'll blame Kamala and Biden because tragedy is a political opportunity.

I just drove 21 hours, over two days 1200 miles from Madeira Beach back to Michigan, because I lost everything with hurricane Helene, including my car, and I wrote out the storm in my house with 5 feet of water, my only hope is the house will be there after this storm. But at least I’m safe.

Not to sound cruel, but if you live where hurricanes land, year after year, don't you kinda know another hurricane is coming? I live in the "blast/lahar zone" of 3 volcanoes. I pay extra for volcano insurance.

And I'm pretty sure that everyone has been told to have a stash of water for emergencies. It's something like a gallon per person per day. Of course it's sold out at disaster time. Plan ahead.

These are all young people who don't seem to have gone through a hurricane before. You buy water and nonperishables and let it accumulate year round. 1 gallon or can per trip year round and you're going to be fine. The minute you see a storm brewing you make sure your car is filled up and just top it off to avoid empty stations or use Gas Buddy app. Evacuating from anywhere is going to take longer because you aren't the only one. Prepare and be decisive. Stay safe all.
