Watching people drive right into the water spout/tornado is absolutely wild.

Pray for the homeless ones, and the poor cats and dogs living on the streets.😢

Hope nothing bad happen to the people in the cars on the bridge.

No one should be there, those poor police officers, wow 😮

I'm from S Florida and to all asking about the police...

It's almost certain that they left the cars in position with lights on as a traffic deterrent. It's something they often do to discourage speeding. By the time you realize the car is empty you are right next to them and driving slow. That's the point.

Those cops are BRAVE. All these first responders staying and working through this and helping others through it have all my admiration. I know it doesnt mean much but I just hope everyone makes it through this.

I am just flummoxed at the people who persist in continuing to drive across the bridge in the middle of this thing!

Can't understate how dumb you'd have to be to drive over a bridge that has been closed by the police in the middle of a storm warning. No potential loss to property is worth taking the risk of being thrown into the sea or something in the middle of a hurricane!

From a Caribbean things we always have in times of Hurricanes to survive the aftermath: Flour, oil, baking powder/yeast, canned meat and veg, rice, pasta, coal, kerosene. All you need is three stones, some wood/coal and a pot. Look up recipes on YT for Johnny cake/fried dumplings/bakes. We also smoke alot of our meat/fish to preserve them to make some good one pot soups. Pasta/rice with corn beef and mixed veg was gourmet food after Hurricane Maria destroyed my island. Prayers going up stay safe!

I'm still perplexed as to why, after 9 years of this, there are individuals who find the most complaining and delicate crybaby on the planet

I survived Hurricane Katrina as an essential worker at a hospital near the beach. I still have night terrors almost 20 yrs later. People were dismissive of that one too & there’s still a missing persons list & we never fully recover. So, I am enraged at the stubborn, entitled persons risking their family by not evacuating & even driving around like it’s another regular old Wednesday. I volunteered to help our local coroner to sort & store BODY PARTS of victims, cause yeah, people not always die in one piece during a natural disaster & during that time we were finding ourselves in stifling silence. Then, about two weeks in, the coroner said, ”If people just left when they were supposed to, I’d have less bodies to count.” That hit hard to hear, a physical gut punch. So, it’s not brave to be filming yourself in a car surrounded by flood water, it’s not heroic vlogging live standing on your porch. IF YOU’RE NOT MEDICAL OR PART OF A RESCUE ESSENTIAL WORKER, SHELTER IN PLACE OUT OF THE DIRECT PATH IN A LOW RISK FLOOD PLAIN OR LEAVE. Your dead body doesn’t need to be found if you listen to COMMON SENSE & get out of the way. Or ya can just be on a missing persons list 20 yrs from now.
