1987 RoboCop had bits and pieces of Alex Murphy's memory and was struggling with them.

2014 RoboCop was still very much Alex Murphy.

I have to be honest, I like this version because Alex gets to see his family and not be treated as a machine by the one guy who was in charge of his creation.

While the movie had its low moments, I have to admit I liked it. It hit the harsh notes of a man having to accept a new sense of nature in the machine. His final expression as he see’s his family walking towards him is one that says that’s what he fights and serves for. That simple, gentle smile. Not the greatest of films, but definitely far from terrible.

That smile gets me, knowing he's still loved by his family despite he's now RoboCop, that's the beauty of this scene.

In 2014 this movie was lackluster. However with everything thats been released in the past 10 years, i gotta admit this aged well.

Since RoboCop never died in this film and still had feelings for his family, I would have preferred they give Alex a body like Raiden's second body in Metal Gear Solid 4. He would have looked somewhat like an android, but a lot more human and could wear heavy body armor or something since his android body would be able to carry more weight.

The juxtaposition of this scene and the scene where he becomes privy to the nature of reality, him essentially loosing his humanity on a physical basis, brings about a real solemn mood, as if he is at peace with what he has become. A hand, lungs and head encased in a metal skeleton, but still a consciousness, a soul.

I have to say that I liked this version of Robocop . It could've had a trilogy of films had this one made a lot of money at the box office.

I love he gets a new suit the same as the first one has. Its a cool touch.

Ok so the suit slides onto him and basically his brain is in control of a robot. It makes you wonder what other things they could build for him to interface with the remainders of his body.
A BIGGER robot.
A large Tank?
An entire computer hooked up to many robots.

I think there's an unexplained plot-hole in the look of Murphy's eyes in this scene. He didn't look very human in the eyes.

i really did like this movie, granted i wasn't around to see the first robocop movie, but i guess that proves that as a stand-alone film without the weight of the legacy of other movies, it holds up. and plus i liked the black armor, hope it gets used in mk11 lol
