Rear-view cameras are becoming more and more visible on new model cars, but what does the law say about this technology?

always great info... I am somehow surprised at the number of people and cars that walk and drive around me when I am well out of my space when I back out... I have even had to put down my window "talk to people who stand behind my car totally unaware... If we all work together it would be much easier!

Great video, a question why are the rear camera image flip left to right so words are backwards?

2017 Mercedes GLC300 has a great back up rear view camera with different views. The only problme is that it does not have an audible signal in my wany of thinking this is unsafe. Dealer said that to have an audible signal I needed to buy the Parktronic Feature. Had I known this before I bought the car I would have paid the extra $$$ for Parktronic. Live and learn.

The 2014 Nissan Versa Note has the RoundView monitor, and it's a subcompact hatch. Every luxury car sold new should have a rearview camera as standard equipment. It's really disappointing that a luxury vehicle costing 2-3 times more than an average vehicle doesn't come standard with a rearview camera, even at the base price.

Back up cameras are now mandatory on all new cars. I don't rely on the camera alone, I look back when I am backing out of a parking spot

Beware of the 2018 Chevrolet Impala back
up camera. In the rain the dash board screen image could be extremely blurry
due to rain drops on the rear camera lenses and this poor image could get
someone killed or seriously injured. Never had a problem with my 2014 Cheve Impala.
This is a General Motors Corporation problem!

And another reason why people hit things behind them without a camera is because they don't inspect their surroundings before getting into the vehicle.

The around view setup in the FX is really nice. It's starting to show up in some of the Nissan line as well. Interesting that this will soon be a regulation by 2014. The supermarket will be full of little old ladies trying to backup with cameras.
