4 Exercises for Radial Nerve Pain

preview_player
Показать описание
Today’s video covers four exercises that can help reduce radial nerve pain, which can be felt on the back of the arm, top of the forearm and the backside of the hand. The radial nerve is one of the three major peripheral nerves of the upper extremity and supplies the posterior (backside) aspects of the arm, forearm and hand.

More specifically, the radial nerve provides motor innervation to the triceps and the wrist/finger extensor muscles. The nerve also relays sensory input from most of the back of the hand and fingers (except the pinky and medial half of the ring finger).

Let me know if you have any questions and, as always, see your local musculoskeletal provider if your symptoms are worsening or not improving.

I have been dealing with radial nerve pain for the past two weeks, and haven't been getting relief from steroids and muscle relaxers prescribed by my doctor. The "flossing" exercise provided almost immediate pain relief, and I got a lot of functionality back right away. Thanks for the help!

Been to numerous drs, told to do PT for tennis elbow, had cortisone shots, MRIs done and drs ruled out all diagnosable elbow injuries. I was told there's no test for diagnosing some with Radial tunnel syndrome, just ruling out all of the other possible injuries first. I've had a kink in my neck and crippling nerve pain from both elbows down to the tops of hands for 3 years now. Acupuncture has been the only thing that has help me but I will definitely start doing these exercises. I want to fix my problem so I can workout and lift weights again. I feel optimistic after watching this video, so thank you!

After a long couple of weeks with worsening nerve pain from a flaring prior injury, I was honestly panicked a little at the idea of stretching my wrist extensor muscle, I was sure it was going to hurt. It was a little uncomfortable at first, but by the end of the 30 second stretch, that actually felt so good. What a helpful video, thanks so much for posting this!

Great video, really relieved some burning tenderness between my wrist and middle forearm. By the time I got to the twisting arm, turning neck exercise the pain was gone. I wish I found this 5 days ago.

That last exercise really lights my arm up wow like 220 volts. 4 weeks ago all I did was roll on a rubber ball and somehow pinched this Radial nerve . lucky me

This pain is no joke. whenever it happens it makes my arms basically crippled. My arms start shivering and i experience muscle weakness and extreme pain to a point that even moving my arms is a torture . It always happens when i train jiu jitsu or wrestling so it stops me from training and doing basic activities for the next 2 days

Good to know that whenever I've been experiencing radial nerve pain, i like to do that twisting motion with my arm and wrist!
I've been having pain particularly between my middle and pointer fingers. I'm hoping these kinds of exercises will help after it's been able to rest so the inflammation can go down a little.

I have a case tourniquet palsy post forearm surgery, my patient can’t functionally move the wrist on flexion and extension and the fingers as well.
Please suggest rehabilitation protocol

Wow so i thought this was a kind of tendonopathy. I definitely have this, and I'm pretty sure it has caused pain raidating all the way down to my left ring finger, which doesnt not like to be in a closed fist postion for long when gripping hard. No loss of strength however (minimal at least).

When I lift my finger and resist this wirh my other hand i can feel tingling running up my forearm.

Thanks for the video
