What a brief yet mind-opening presentation about the philosophy of hypnosis and psychotherapy being experiential and having a non-pathological and Rogerian point of view echoing humanistic concepts. Awakening things that are dormant in a patient/client. I love this philosophy and steering clear away from a medical point of view. It is hard these days as managing care controls everyone, including the physicians, if we are to make a living helping people. They want a more evidence-based procedural step-by-step, one-size-fits-all approach, but they may rob the clients of the full experience and long-lasting healing they find within themselves.

This was so insightful. To focus on being as opposed to doing and to shift one’s perspective from medical to awakening attributes within the person is extremely insightful. Zen!
