I want to talk about a verbal pattern. A pattern that I’ve learned and a pattern that I have incorporated into my speaking - and a pattern that shows us, not only shows up in speech, but also shows up in music.

We are excited to share with you the return of our Youtube series "5 Minute Therapy Tips" for Season 2! We will explore topics such as Client Problems, Professional Issues, Clinical Concerns, and Methodology.

Looking back at my successful therapy sessions, I realize I've been practicing recursions without being aware of it. What a beautiful and valuable technique.

Not quite "recursion", but somewhat similar, was Charles De Gaulle's pattern of the law of three in his speeches: "Paris outragé! Paris brisé! Paris martyrisé! Mais Paris libéré!". To make a musical analogy, as Dr. Zeig does, I would say that the pattern is a crescendo and peaks with a contradiction. The contradiction brings home the idea of: everything isn't what it seems. -very effective.

You’re a musician and artist/studying psychotherapy dream!! All these devices are exactly what I’ve mastered musically and you show vividly how the devices are extremely useful and applicable in therapy!!! This is what I was going to do anyway and you’re one of the only therapist speaking from this perspective. Thank you soooo much!!!
