REALLY SORRY for the darker exposure, i have a new monitor and it has a weird HDR function that messed the whole rendering, i should have checked it before uploading. My Apologies.

I was really waiting for the the Pyxis to be like the Ursa mini Pro G2 or the 12K , when it came out and i heard its the same as L mount Cinema pocket, let say i was disapointed . SO ! I skip and hop and heyo i have a Ursa mini 12K.

This is the best youtbue channel I've ever sstumbled onto in it's beginnings and as a graphic designer who's looking for Digital Creators in Videography I feel so lucky to come by this!

I think the RGBW sensor of the 12K is the winner hands down, the only problem is the big, awkward form factor! If Blackmagic can get the RGBW sensor (full frame or Super35) into a smaller boxed body then it would absolutely slay!

Hello again lightleaked, I remember you telling me to buy the BMPCC4K with metabones adapter. I was just wondering if by any chance is the BMPCC 6k Pro better and worth buying instead? Or will it be overkill for someone as inexperienced as me? Just would love to hear your thoughts because I want to make documentaries and make them as pro as possible. With my photography background, I hope it'll all translate in terms of knowing how to man these cameras. Thanks again in advance

I have both cameras and I just shoot a short and I just keep going for the 12k and the G2 over the Pyxis. Don’t get me wrong the Pyxis is a beast but the 12k is something completely different!!!!

I’m definitely sticking with my Ursa 12K OLPF!!!! I love this camera! Beautiful images!!!

It’s defo a hype camera 😊 but it’s not a “L mount 6k pro” - it has no internal ND’s to be called Pro 😅

Thank you for this video as I was comparing this myself, also the shots of the woman getting ready were beautiful, nice work 👍

Great video! I'm hoping that since the 12K full frame is out, the 12K OLPF will go down in price and I can pick one up!

Great video!! I've been rocking my pocket 4K with a 64 XL metabolone speed booster for the past 3 years. Haven't really seen a reason to upgrade as of yet, but I'm hoping the price of the 12K OLPF will go down because of the Ursa Cine and that would make a great A cam!

Going with the Ursa Broadcast G2 and pair it with my current Pocket 4K. The Broadcast G2 is currently the only Ursa camera with dual ISO and has gyro data to help fix rolling shutter. Offers better framerate than the Pyxis in 6K. The downside is that the sensor is 1.55 rather than the 12K's 1.3 which is a shame. It shares the same sensor as the Pocket 6K Pro.

I have been saying this for a long time, the pyxes does have a few things that I like, but in my opinion my 12k runs circles around it, I almost got rid of it last week at B&H and changed my mind at the last minute, they were willing to take my 12k and I could have walked out the store with the pyxes L mount and the EF mount adapter with no exchange of money, that's over 3 thousand dollars, but all they were going to do is turn around and sell my 12K for 5 thousand dollars ( at the time they had two 12k in the use department for just over 5 thousand). Blackmagic are the ones that hurt the sales of the 12k by not giving it the exposure they have giving to other models that don't come close to this one.

Very nice video with good food for thought! My personal disappointment with the Pyxis launch was that it is too big. I was hoping for a smaller box camera with maybe a refreshed 6K S35 Sensor for Studio work (and with Smpte2110 which they are pushing). Hoped for L-Mount and an Adapter to LPL with an E-ND that can be controlled over BM Camera Control. Would have made the studio and live streamers happy as well as the gimbal flyers! But who knows, maybe there is a Pyxis Studio or Mini coming up that differentiates it more from the Ursa Mini 12k (which I get to play around with next month) :)

I was looking at buying the pyxis because i want to start videography and grow in that aspect. After seeing this video and the information, i might reconsider and think twice about the pyxis. Thanks for your video

That's a great comparison. Also, just as a personal preference, your video looks great but I think it's a tad too dark. Your face is more covered by darkness which I great for the effect but I think it's a bit too much.

This image is severely under exposed. The Pyxis is great because it's Full frame, open gate. it's $3000 dollars less than the 12k, which means you can get an A & B camera for the price of one 12k. Lets be honest, no client cares about image specs, 12k, 7ms rolling shutter...its just you YouTubers trying to sound like industry gurus pimping gear. If we're gonna be honest, no one needs to buy new gear. the industry is crashing and prices for work is plummeting. If you become a gear pimp, you'll lose in the end.

that was an intense intro ! reminds me of a serial murder thriller ! on the pyxis i agree and i dont agree, the pyxis is not meant to be the same as the cine cameras otherwise no one will buy the cine versions and or the price of the pyxis will put it in a price bracket to compete with other brands, which i guess would be a good thing as that would create more value for the BMD brand.. who knows but yes i wish the rolling shutter was addressed and better on the pyxis, keep it up man we will smash through to 1000 !
