Just when we thought the camera market was settling down blackmagic are going to put the 12k URSA cine sensor into the PYXIS body!

We don't know price point or limitations but this is interesting, also will the current PYXIS get a price drop?!

A year later, and I just now received my Pyxis EVF Monitor Kit yesterday. Have a fun and great trip Dale!

Someone who was there said they saw "12K 60fps" on the other parts of the window or they saw it on one of the PYXIS 12K boxes lying around.

Now I’m SO glad I skipped the 6k Pyxis. And I knew BM had to come out with a model between the 6k and the Ursa Cine. I had sort of assumed they would package the 12k sensor into an Ursa mini body with dual CFExpress (and no possibility of the 8GB module) and that would be the design. Apparently they have a different idea which all in all I think is great. Of course the Pyxis isn’t capable of the power delivery, or the heat management, or the internal bandwidth to have a full array of frame rates; but for instance it should blow the Burano out of the water at 8K in terms of frame rates and image quality. 16 stops for maybe $5999 US? Should be a hell of a bargain. Still no AF, and I’m not sure how you’re reading NDs into that photo (I will look again). BM will shake things up with this. No question.

Still holding onto my Kinefinity Mavo Edge 8k Open Gate camera with built in e-ND. Pro res 444 and CDNG raw.

Given Red dropped the price of the OG Komodo, I think Blackmagic are going to drop the OG Pyxis price by ~$1000 and make the new Pyxis Cine 12k maybe $3.5k-$4.5k.

Another pyxis even with 6k, but global shutter would be nice

Been waiting a long time for an affordable camera that can record unlimited 8K/60p without overheating - this could be the one!

I got another question! Will active L-mount lenses have linear manual focus throws on the PYXIS 12K? and can we choose the focus throw direction and degree of rotation?

If the PYXIS 12K LF is a 24 volt camera like the URSA Cine, please ask if 26 volt V-mounts will work with it.

exciting, I've seen a more detailed picture and in the bottom right it says 12k 60p which would make sense as it a smaller body

Looks like no internal nds, please confirm

I have two questions you could ask Blackmagic!
1) Will they develop a control grip that is powered via USB-C that has dedicated dials for exposure, focus and menu adjustments? This will be great for gimbal and shoulder rig use.
1) And I know this question is getting ahead of ourselves, but would a PYXIS 17K 65 be possible?

I see what black magic there. Red lower the price of the OG Komodo to $2995 to compete with the Pyxis 6K. Red put dirt on the Pyxis 6K and black magic said just wait a minute Red we got something for your ass that will put dirt on the Komodo-X. When companies compete we win.

I think 8K, removable mount, V-mount or B-mount would be a welcome addition. Makes me question what RED might be up to.

As a person who bought Pyxis in December I would be quite pissed.

Even if it is 12K, we will have to wait until they design it, gear up for it, manufacture it, and sell it. We will have to wait until 2027.

As I told before, you should never get a first version of new BM model. This is the proof again. It was worth waiting ;-)
