I think that you’re the first YouTuber to actually reflect on what they have visited in Germany and openly say what you liked and not liked. And that’s wonderful. I totally agree with all of your points in this video. 😄
Especially with Neuschwanstein. I mean we have over 25.000 castles most of them being way older than this one. And everyone always praises Neuschwanstein although historically it doesn’t represent German castles at all. Burg Eltz, like you mentioned, does represent German castles way better. 😄

Most tourist hotspots are overrated. It is more worthwhile to look around in the closer areas: there you will find your personal highlights that are not in any tourist guide.

Oktoberfest! By far my No. 1 as a German to never visit. Life is short enough. There is no reason to shorten it artificially with much too loud poor music, pissed drunkards and highly overpriced drinks.

Hi Seth...I couldn't agree more. Stephan and I try to steer away from tourist places. There are so much more in Germany and in Europe to see than the typical tourist hotspots.

Reeperbahn is not overrated, if you like to party. (And beside the pandemic) you can party however you like it. Stripclubs, bars, karaoke, dancing to many different styles of music... Don't take it as offense, but maybe it's just not for your age group 🙈

I have to confess that I, as a german, never have been to Berlin or Hamburg and to Munich only once for a two day trip a fan club of my favourite football club organized when our club had a match scheduled against Bayern II and since I was only a poor school student back then I couldn't afford to go to Hofbräuhaus or wherever the others went for sightseeing and I just sat at the main station at the burger king :D
As a kind-of local (I live 45 minutes away) I am all for Burg Eltz! Although I'm also okay with it if the masses of tourists stay away.

It's funny how i planed to visit Rotenburg, had to cancel it due illness that day and came to Dinkelsbühl by accident instead at the next morning. It was great. :)

We have literally hundreds of places like Rothenburg. So, spot on. Instead of doing the usual Berlin stuff, go seek out places more outside the center. Hamburg Reeperbahn is indeed a funfair. As for castles, we've got hundreds if not thousands. But, Neuschwanstein has a brilliant restroom for boys, with a lookout over the landscape.

As a German I can only concur with you. Regarding all five places.

Quite a nice city to visit with not too many visitors is Ulm. Highest church spire, beautiful old part of town. The most "crooked" hotel in the world, nice exhibition spaces. And small.

I grew up in Hamburg. The Reeperbahn has always been a place of many layers. There has always been crime, there has always been seediness, a huge amount of tourism and some really cool music clubs. But it's not really apparent. Especially in daylight.

And a random question here: Are you going to what Eurovision this Saturday? It’s the biggest music contest in Europe and the world and also has some pretty good rock songs in it this year, which I’m sure that you’re going to like. 😄

Hi Weltbürger, nice of you to explain this. Most of this tourist places are overrun. Big thumbs up for Dinkelsbühl ! Not so far Nördlingen or Schwäbisch Hall as well. I could go on and on. For stressed out Americans, trying to find a typical relaxed old german town, the "Fränkische Schweiz" could also be a good destination. You will be surprised how cheap it is to eat and drink there. A own brewerie in almost any small village or at least in rather small radius.Nürnberg, Coburg, Kulmbach, and Bamberg are pretty close. A bit west of it is the charming Würzburg. If you like wine, don't look any further. The Main river area is famous for its wine and food. I might sound like a salesman, but i do not want to sell anything! I just love Franconia !

Thank you! We do agree with you. If someone is interested in GDR, German castles or middle age towns there are better and less crowded places in Germany.

The best thing to do while waiting for your own tour through Neuschwanstein to start is watching how tourist groups of different nations pass through the turnstiles. The most interesting was a japanese group where one guy shouted something and the group instantly formed 3 lines and passed through the turnstiles in under 30s whereas German groups needed around a minute and a Polish group even more since they were totally unorganized.

You have to see Braunfels this is one of the most beautiful castles in germany with regularly medieval festival and markets. And in the christmas time you need to see the PLWM in Dortmund. thank me later and have a nice day.

Nice job Seth. The most underrated site in Germany 🇩🇪 is Cafe Paradiso in Oberammergau as they have the best tasting Spaghetti 🍝 Eis in all of Germany:).

Two tourist tipps
Hann. Münden (a smal city near Kassel with timberframe houses)

Tierpark Sababurg (one of the oldest animal parks foundet in 1573)
