Are Mormons Christians?

As a mormon, I really thought I was a Christian. The longer I am out, the crazier mormon theology sounds. Thank you, Jesus for your Holy Bible and for leading me to the truth.

A lot of people in the comments are claiming that the guy in the video is wrong and that Mormons believe that Jesus is God. I have a genuine question, then. What did Joseph Smith see as an abomination in the Christian denominations? If LDS teachings are so similar to Christian teachings, then what was the catalyst for him needing to start his own church?

One of the major problems is they have “ The Book of Mormon “. The Bible EXPLICITLY says in Revelation 22 verse 18-20 that no one is to add to or take away from the Book of Revelation. I’m pretty sure he also wants the same for the rest of the Bible.. They follow a false prophet..

Yesterday I got invited by two young missionaries to their church to hear about their faith. Though they’re young and inexperienced but immediately they brought out the Book of Mormon I could just feel my peace left me. When I heard them speak about their prophets in the book and their prophet leader, I could already spot the contradiction with the Bible. Even though their young claim that the book supports the Bible there are still fundamental differences with their doctrine. Honestly it feels sad

Their founder even explicitly stated they were not Christian.

Im faithfully LDS, I know my faith constantly gets hate on the internet, but I’m not ashamed at all on what I believe in. Christ is coming soon, hold on and believe in him, Christ is king, and God is our Heavenly Father❤

It makes a lot more sense to say Mormons are not trinitarians, not that Mormons are not Christian. Mormons believe in Jesus as their Savior, that makes Mormons Christian.

Exactly. They arent "Christian" so to speak. If to be Christian you have to believe in the "Holy Trinity" then by that definition they arent. But being a Christian is putting your faith into jesus christ and believing him. They also arent a "cult" either is that was the case then every religion is a "cult". We have our own way of Christianity so does the Jehovahs witness, Catholic, baptist, and so on. But in the end. We all believe in Jesus Christ. And THAT is the true definition of Christianity. Not matter how you perceive the Bible. (Im LDS)

He is right, this is what I have learned from the missionaries. Just hear us out members of the LDS church, we are offended when you say all of our creeds were an abomination. I trust in a God who preserved His church throughout all time and did not need a restoration. To me that is a different God than the one you believe in. Just try to step back for a minute and understand why we as Christians are offended by some of the things yall teach. In our perspective, they are a whole different gospel.
