You ever notice how these networks renew shows that nobody liked, while cancelling shows people do like?

"We have an all-female director staff this season."
"How does that help us?"
"Now when they tell us it sucks, we can just say they're sexist."

I bet Rings of Power is the sole reason Amazon started putting commercials in their movies and tv shows. They are subsidizing their failures.

"Do you know why a ship floats, and a stone cannot?" asked Finrod.

"Because a ship is less dense than water and a stone is not?" Galadriel ventured.

"Uhh... I... I didn't mean literally, " Finrod stammered, clearly floundering for a more profound answer.

Galadriel tilted her head quizzically. "Then no... I don't know."

"Well, you see, " Finrod continued, trying to recover, "a ship floats because it seeks the light, whereas a stone sinks because it embraces the darkness."

Galadriel's brow furrowed. "Seeks the light? How can a ship seek anything?"

"No, no, it's like... the ship's heart is lifted by hope, while the stone... um... is weighed down by despair, " Finrod said, desperately trying to salvage the metaphor.

"A ship has a heart? And a stone feels despair?" Galadriel asked, her confusion deepening.

"Not literally! It's a metaphor!" Finrod exclaimed, feeling the conversation veering off course. "It's about the spirit of the ship versus the stone."

Galadriel blinked, still trying to follow. "How do a heap of wood and a rock have spirits? Aren't they just being tossed around by physics?"

"It's a metaphor! Why is this so hard for you to grasp?" Finrod snapped, frustration creeping into his voice. "The ship represents aspiration and the stone represents stagnation!"

Galadriel blinked again. "Ahh... uhhh... okay."

Finrod's eyes narrowed. "You don't actually understand, do you?"

Galadriel sighed. "Well... probably not. I mean, I understand the idea that a ship 'seeks' light and a stone 'seeks' darkness if I try to imagine them as characters or something... and I guess I'd rather be the ship in that case. So the moral is that I should... ummm... seek light instead of darkness? Or something?"

An awkward silence hung between them as Finrod realized his metaphor had conveyed nothing of value. He shifted uncomfortably, searching for something to say.

"Yes, " he muttered finally. "Seek light instead of darkness. Exactly."

Galadriel nodded slowly. "Right. Got it."

I hope Henry Cavill knows how much mileage we as a society are getting out of his delivery of the word "fuck"

All i heard in response to "do you know why ships float and stones do not" was John Cleese saying "b-because they're...made of...wood?"

Cate Blanchett's performance really portrays the majesty of Galadriel.

My girlfriend and I are fans of representation in media, and she loves to see people who look like her in film so we were pretty psyched to watch this bc we’re huge LOTR fans. We made it maybe 10 minutes in and she was like, “can we stop watching this? She’s a b*tch and the elves have short hair”. There’s literally no win for this show, they didn’t even make it to their “target audience”. The whole world just wants a good show, politics or not

The reason a stone sinks and boat floats is obviously due to the boat being made of wood, just the same as witches.

One wig to rule them all.
One wig to hide him.
One wig to fool them all.
And now they can not find him.

Season 1 has a 7/10 rating on IMDB... However if you look on the website you'll find that:
1 star: 1221 reviews
2 stars: 613 reviews
3 stars: 575 reviews
4 stars: 363 reviews
5 stars: 308 reviews
6 stars: 232 reviews
7 stars: 189 reviews
8 stars: 317 reviews
9 stars: 348 reviews
10 stars: 809 reviews
Giving an average rating of... 4.5
I guess IMDB must be doing an "adaptation" of mathematical rules in the same way that amazon "adapted" Tolkien's work

*My favorite scene was when Galadriel withstood the male gaze of a goblin*

All I can say is:
Rest in peace Bernard Hill, one of the few actors willing to speak out against Amazon and their garbage show. You will be missed.

I love how critics give the show 83% while the audience gives it 38%. They're not watching the same thing as us, or they're corrupt. I don't know 🤷‍♂️

One show to ruin them all,
One show to bore them,
One show to disrespect the books,
And with the plot holes ignore them...

My favourite part of Rings of Power was never watching it and revisiting LOTR, movies AND books.
