Synopsis: Prime Video's The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power brings to screens for the very first time the heroic legends of the fabled Second Age of Middle-earth's history. This epic drama is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Fantasy shows need to learn to make their worlds 'lived in' and not too 'clean' like we see here. Take GoT for example, it looks good because it feels like a real world with real people.

I really, really dont like what they did to Galadriel. She's a damm living goddes, not a warrior. She's above basic violence. This is looking like really, really basic writing compensated with a huge budget and nice imagery. People who think strength comes from the physical is the direct opposite of Tolkiens work. The "theres a tempest in me" is making me think they're inspired by the Elizabeth movies instead of Tolkien. Im gonna watch an episode, but this is not looking good as an adaption of this era. I hope im wrong.

The addition of the impeccable trailer music really shows the love that Bezos and the showrunners have for Tolkien. I was worried at first but now I'm cautiously optomistic. This is truly the novel Tolkien never wrote done as the mega series that can only be done today reflecting how the world really looks. I especially love how Galadriel says "yipikaye mofos!" before spraying the enemy with machine gun fire. Made me cry, got so many chills. Tolkien could never have accomplished what JD Payne and Patrick McKay have.
