LEAVING YOUR HOMETOWN CAN BE SCARY!

Leaving your hometown can be a daunting experience, I know it certainly was for me. You have your own self doubt then all the people around you getting you down on how you’re gonna “fail” - I let this negativity hold me back for many years and didn’t make the move.
I had so much regret that I didn’t - until finally one day I built up the courage to take the leap.

In this video you will follow Otto and me through hauling the rest of our stuff up to North Carolina in our Penske truck as we close the “Florida” chapter of our lives.

I left South Florida for New York City too and have not looked back. Actually, it wasn't just me, my husband and son moved too. We will have to leave NYC, probably, when I complete my PhD, but we are NOT going back to South Florida.

As and adult you have to be confident, you have to be brave and you have to be READY! Always RUN forward, don't run BACK!

Hilarious! I just moved to Tampa from Minneapolis 3 years ago. I moved from Saint Louis to Minneapolis 2 years before that. And from Ohio to Saint Louis 12 years before that.

Tampa is a solid city. Really, probably the best one in Florida. Prices are reasonable, crime is lower, you can raise a family, it’s super diverse, and business opportunities abound here. I’m staying put

I’ve been to a few countries, 25+ states, 100’s of cities, and have a good scope on a few things in life. It’s mostly about what you’re actually doing as an individual. Yes, some cities suited my personality better. Others not at all.

Thank you for this. I feel exactly the same way! I'm about to make a move and it is scary! But I don't want to let that stop me. You are so right that the feeling of regret is so much worse than failure!!

Great story, that's me before I moved to Austin. It took 3 years of me doubting the move before I couldn't stand it and I just went. Good advice.

I'm considering a move after living in the same place all my life. I'm pretty excited about it.

Hi there! Thanks for your words of encouragement! We are thinking about moving from Kansas City to Tampa for the warmer weather and to be close to the water. I was curious why you left Tampa? I’d love to hear your perspective thanks!

*Hello Erin* Ohhh yes ! I'am the kind of woman who would be scared to left behind his hometown. In My country it is not very usual, but in America, it's more common. America is so great. Here... we love to leave near our family. You are courageous, I admire you! I hope everything will be ok for you. Greetings from a little country.

Thank you so much for sharing. I was needing works of confidence and affirmation before I move cross country in 2 weeks. It’s difficult mentally and emotionally but it’s important to take risks so I don’t stay stagnant all my life.
