Faith alone saves you. So if any of you in the comments are worried about your salvation always remember that we can’t earn our salvation. Salvation is a free gift. And to receive that gift all you have to do is believe the gospel.
GOD bless you all.❤️

I ran into this debate recently and what caught my attention is that someone said “why would you not be baptized if given the chance?”
So necessary to go to heaven I don’t think so, but I think it’s necessary to live your life and claim to be a Christian by following His commands which include Baptism.

You must follow him after water baptism & the indwelling of the Holy Ghost. Endure till the end. In the New Testament it says if you abide in Christ, you are not under the law. In other words you will not want to sin.

Mark 16:16 Jesus told the apostles right before he rose up to be with God. He who believes and is baptized shal be saved. He who does not believe shall be condemned. In this verse, Jesus taught us two truths. 1. How to be saved and 2. How to be condemned. I chose #1. How about you. The thief on the cross had Jesus personally there with him telling the thief he would be with Jesus in Paradise that very day. Jesus also told us that he could forgive sins while he was on earth, as he did the crippled man. He told the Jews. Is it easier to say your sins are forgiven or rise and walk. But that you may believe, arise and walk. So Jesus had the authority on earth to forgive sins as he did the Thief. But now that he has gone to be with God, Jesus commanded, He that believes and is baptized shall be saved. I do not know which part of that command some people do not want to accept.

I always say that when you have the Holy Spirit, He will prompt you to get baptized. It’s a good thing.

1 Peter 3:21 English Standard Version (ESV)

Baptism, which corresponds to this,  now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience,  through the resurrection of Jesus Christ... that's a tough one..

This post is regarding the baptismal invocation (what is spoken by the person who is conducting the baptism). Today the POPULAR PRACTICE is different than it was ORIGINALLY done. ORIGINALLY, they spoke Jesus name. BUT, today they commonly speak the terms: "father-son-spirit". Which invocation is the Biblical practice? Answer: The invocation speaking Jesus name. The following is just one approach for people to see that this is true. The Bible and early theologians/scholars used to write about the invocation describing it in a few ways, that all point to Jesus name being spoken. One common way to refer to that is "Baptism in the name of Christ, " the Son, the Son of God, into Christ, etc. See if you can recognize this pattern in the below content....

Baptism in the Name of Christ:
Acts 8:5, 12, 35 Philip preached “Jesus” “Christ”
Acts 9:15 Paul would bear Jesus Christ’s name before the Gentiles
Acts 9:27 says Paul preached “in the NAME OF JESUS”
And in Acts 9:29 “he spake boldly in the NAME OF THE LORD JESUS...”
Luke 24:46-47 “...it behoved Christ to suffer [Who are we talking about? Answer: “Christ”]”
47 “...REMISSION OF SINS SHOULD BE PREACHED IN HIS NAME [Jesus Christ]”
What was that name that Peter preached, in Acts 2:21, that would save? Answer: JESUS CHRIST!
What name did Acts 4:10-12 say that would save? Answer: JESUS CHRIST!

Section 1
Col 3:17 “do all in the NAME OF THE LORD JESUS”
Acts 22:16 “be baptized...calling on the NAME OF THE LORD”
Acts 19:5 “they were BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS”
Acts 8:16 “they were baptized in the name of the LORD JESUS”
Acts 8:38 baptized in the name of Jesus
Acts 8:12 Baptized in Jesus Christ’s name
Acts 2:38 “...be baptized... in the name of JESUS CHRIST for remission of sins...”
Acts 10:48 ESV “be BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST”
1 Cor 6:11 NET “you were WASHED...IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.”
Section 2
Acts 15:17 “...Gentiles, upon whom MY NAME IS CALLED...”
Jas 2:7 AMP “...that precious NAME by which you are… called (the NAME OF CHRIST invoked in baptism)?”
Section 3
Romans 6:3-4 “...us as were BAPTIZED INTO JESUS CHRIST”
Gal 3:27 “...as many of you as have been BAPTIZED INTO CHRIST HAVE PUT ON CHRIST”
Romans 6:3-4 “WERE BAPTIZED IN HIS [Christ’s] DEATH?”
“Therefore we are buried with him [Christ] by baptism”
Col 2:12 “buried with him [Christ] in baptism”
Section 4
In the Latin West it was “nomini Christi” or “in the name of Jesus Christ”
or “baptizo te in nomine Christi” ... the apostles baptized “in nomine Christi”.
Consider that many prominent theologians of the early centuries of the church age, spoke and wrote about immersion: “into Christ”, “into the death of Christ”, “in Christ’s name”, “in the name of Christ”, “in the name of the Son”, “in the name of the Son of God”, Christological invocation, etc..
Section 5
“MY NAME IS CALLED” Acts 15:17
Eusebius quoted Matthew 28:19 no less than 17 times, “baptizing them...IN MY NAME” (pre 325AD)
“in HIS NAME” Luke 24:47
Section 6
“BURIED WITH HIM” in “baptism” Romans 6:4 and again in Col 2:12
“INTO HIS DEATH” in baptism Romans 6:3

TAKE-AWAY LESSONS:
Baptized in “His”, or “in MY name”. It’s “his”, or “him”.
•Notice the singular pronouns, not plural like “Them”!
Also, notice the references are a baptism into Jesus Christ!
•The overwhelming and undeniable focus of the above verses is upon
Jesus Christ-no other divine designations are used in the above references.
•Baptism and Jesus Christ, including HIS NAME, are inextricably linked.
•Most people can recognize the: synthesis, consensus, and confirming patterns, in the above content.

Dr. Brown, I both agree with you on this and disagree with you. May I ask you the following?

1) Are we Commanded to be Baptized?
2) Is it a sin to break a Commandment of God?
3) Can a person WILLFULLY AND UNREPENTANTLY sin, and still be saved?

If it is a Commandment to be Baptized, and breaking a Commandment of God is a sin, and if willful unrepentant sin disqualifies one from salvation, then it follows that willfully refusing to be Baptized disqualifies one from salvation.

This is why Peter teaches that Baptism Saves but then qualifies that it is not the actual water that saves, but the answer of a good conscience towards God that saves. Baptism is not merely an outward sign, but it points to a very real internal working of God, it begins with hearing the Gospel, and the call to repent, and it results in faith and repentance which culminates (whenever it is possible) in the outward working of Baptism.

True Faith and True Salvation always leads a believer to the waters, that entire series of events is all called Baptism (the answer of a good conscience towards God), and is symbolized by the outward work of Water Baptism, but that symbol points to and illustrates a very real, supernatural, spiritual event taking place that is called Salvation.

Why is some of the Bible being ignored? Mark 16:16 says that "He who BELIEVES AND is BAPTIZED he shall be saved, but he who does not believe shall be CONDEMNED or DAMNED.

For God is not the author of confusion 1 Cor.13:44. Jesus left us the example to follow, and he wasn't a sinner, Think about it, why did Jesus allow himself to be baptized by John the baptist ? It was "to fulfill all righteousness" Matt. 3:15 Don't you want to be right with God?

Only belief in Jesus is required for salvation, we are saved by grace through faith not works
