Canon EOS 1Dx review

The EOS-1DX is the latest model in Canon's 1D-series of professional SLRs. It features an 18.1 million pixel sensor, the pixel count of the 1Dx was a bit of a surprise to owners of the 21.1 million pixel 1DS Mark 3, but Canon has kept the new camera's resolution down to ensure better image quality at the higher sensitivity settings.

My dear friend, I hate to disappoint you but Canon decided NOT to include headphone jack on Canon 1Dx. They did however include microphone input which you might mistakenly believe to be a jack for your headset. There is a jack for your headset on Canon 1Dc which looks very similar to 1Dx with the little difference of $4K more for the body and 4K video recording added.
Please don't hesitate to ask any other questions regarding Pro DSLRs.

You just need to watch more camera demos. The 50mm lens is the standard for the majority of these demos. It enables comparisons not only across high priced camera models but also comparisons with a lower cost camera versus a higher cost model.

True on that point Bill, but it would have been a simple addition for pro-photographers who shoot some amateur video with the external mic. Sometimes you just want to monitor audio (in-field) and know that it's at least usable not necessarily having to be up to studio quality.

Still wondering why on earth they moved the Iso button farther right and harder to reach without loosening your grip. Will take some time getting used to when switching between this and the 5DII. Picking it up Monday... Ahh these first world problems :D

Were you expecting a $7, 500 lens on a $7, 500 camera? The 50mm is an established standard for EVERY DSLR. It enables consistent testing methods.

I am sorry to point that there is NO headphones jack on the Canon 1Dx. It is a big disappointment for the pro videographers.

you dont think its a little ironic? doing a demo with an enthusiast lens on a top of the range pro camera? its like putting $50 tires on a porsche .... ive owned the 50/1.4 and while i loved it, its pretty atypical of what owners will use on this body. the 1.4 is not waterproof either, so not too cool showing it with water beading ...

Hello, are you familiar with "Photo SFXart Tricks" (just google it)? There you can watch a nice free video showing the best way to take amazing pictures. This made it possible for Joe to create photographs that leave you with that wow-effect after you look at them. I hope it works for you too.
