There IS a rationale for using exogenous in certain situations. I do not recommend them for weight loss, reversing type 2 diabetes, or other issues on the spectrum of insulin resistance. But they CAN be helpful in other circumstances. This is a brand I trust, from researchers I know personally.

*KETO CHOW - KETO MEAL REPLACEMENT SHAKES*
Looking for keto-friendly meal replacement shakes that are DELICIOUS, easy to make, and 100% customizable for fat & calories? Keto Chow is for you! I know the company owners & management personally and they have hearts of gold. Keto Chow shake mix comes in tons of incredible flavors and they also have a suite of very helpful electrolyte products.

The best electrolytes out there -- from a company I absolutely trust and stand by 100%. I know the people who own the company and created the products personally “in real life,” and they are the embodiment of integrity, honesty, and NO BS -- very rare in the keto world these days!!

What's bad for your kidneys...IS DIABETES I'm a nurse and I have NEVER met a patient who destroyed their kidneys eating whole, unprocessed foods.

Thank you for letting me know I wasn't killing my hubby. He was stage 3b and now he is stage 1.

Amy great video. I’ve wondered about keto and my kidneys. I can put my mind to rest now. KMS4 student here.

What I have noticed is an increased level of vegan activists going in keto sites and inserting doubt and misinformation to scare people inquiring about keto or low carb diets. They are doing this with carnivore too. It may be an organized effort or just individuals but it's definitely a noticeable increase.

Kia-ora, (greetings) Ive been doing a Keto type diet for about 5 years. Or perhaps I could say a low carb diet. My Hba1c (before Keto) was 75 and 60 units of insulin and 4 metformin per day. Not 1 Dr or healthcare proffesional impressed apon me to restrict Carbs. I was shown the door at the Waikato Hospital diabetes clinic for being on Keto. Its taken 5 years but this last pathology test showed NON diabetic hba1c of 40 and zero diabetic medication. Pat on the back from myself! Ultra low carb is the way to beat diabetes. Love from 71yr old NewZealand bloke Danny

Dang! This is such an impassioned and powerful video. Thank you so much, and it's great that you include the links below. As a person who is a kidney transplant recipient, and someone who also works as a patient advocate with the National Kidney Foundations, this information really needs to be shared by more people.
When I say more people, I'll include myself. Thank you!

A very good video. I've been doing Keto (95%) for 5 weeks. I do have the odd treat, but rarely. Have lost weight, blood pressure and blood sugar both reduced. If people avoid oxalates or eat only low oxalate foods, then they shouldn't get kidney stones. I have recently learnt about oxalates, which are terrible for the kidneys.

I needed to hear this right now. Thank you! I’ve been a t1 diabetic for 31 years and I am a big believer in keto and fasting for protecting against and mitigating the harm from high blood sugar. The new point that I hadn’t heard before is the idea that maybe I could potentially continue eating keto if I were near or in kidney failure. I’ve always felt that keto was great for my body and completely freaked out by the idea of having to figure out how to eat again if my kidneys were to go downhill.

I don’t think Dr. Bernstein was ever doing true keto, but I’d be willing to bet he’s been more in ketosis for decades now and his eGFR got much better.

You are so right...No one including your Doctor wants to know about your diet until you aren't eating the way they are. Even my Veterinarian asks first, any concerns? Second what are you feeding this fur baby? Why is diet and nutrition such a taboo subject when it comes to people? It's appalling. Thank you for all the time, effort and information you share. Love your passion, your delivery and your books.

There's one doctor in my country who use kitogenic diet to reverse kidney disease, stage 4 and even stage 5! She said it's difficult but possible.
