I've been on low or no carb since December 18th of last year and I've dropped from 266lbs to 215lbs so far. My IBS is gone, my blood pressure is perfect, I sleep better, I'm never hungry, I have tons of energy and I have never felt better. This is amazing.

Keto has changed my life. I had high blood pressure, an A1c of 10.6. On 10 months of Keto, my blood pressure is near normal, my A1C dropped from 10.6 to 4.8 and I have lost 116 pounds. Oh yeah, my triglycerides? Went down by 50%. Most importantly, I feel great. And here's the kicker.... I am rarely hungry, and I like the foods I eat. Yes, I miss donuts and pasta. But I get to eat lots of stuff I really love.

I’ve been living a ketogenic lifestyle for 17 months now and started to include intermittent fasting along with extended fasting and I’ve lost 120 lbs and 10 sizes. Now I do OMAD and fast at least 3 to 5 days at least twice a month sometimes more. I feel better than ever. I just turned 43 but I feel better now than I did in my 20s 👍🏽👌🏽🙌🏽😊.

Have since been to doctor to have all my numbers checked 👍🏽 and just as I suspected, I’m in great shape. I can’t stand doctors who live in the past and say negative things about ketogenic living without doing some good research. I only side effect i felt was in my wallet when I had to buy all new clothes 😉. I’d rather spend my money on good quality food and clothes then on medications. That whole genetics is true to a point. It’s simple, if a mom ate nothing but sugar and processed food during her pregnancy than of course her child would be at risk for having medical issues. But, if a mom ate good quality healthy fats, moderate protein with lots of vegetables then her child would be at lower risk for medical issues. It’s not rocket science. It’s never too late to undo years of bad eating. My mother is 77 and has reversed her type two diabetes and my father is 73 and has reversed his high blood pressure problems. they are in great shape and very active for there age.

We are a proud healthy ketogenic family and never going back. I tried it the old way and never got any results but ever since I took my health into my own hands did my due diligence and research I feel better than ever.

Keto on 🙌🏽👏🏽👌🏽👍🏽😊😉

I am a 17 year old who has had to deal with junkfood cravings, stress/emotional eating, low selfesteem, and anxiety. Just recently I have started a low carb diet with my parents, and it has helped so much! Everyone says it is not sustainable, but just about every carb packed treat can be replaced with a low carb version and I can eat it knowing that it's healthier. Also, after meals I used to not be able to eat until I was full, however, now I can because I need much less food to feel like that. They say it's a diet, but it's a lifestyle.

Great video. I've been doing keto for almost 11 months. I lost 60 lbs and eight inches off my waist. My triglyceride to HDL cholesterol ratio went from 20 to 1.4. It should keep improving on this diet. I recommend the Keto Diet to my patients.

November 3rd I weighed 303 pounds, I am currently at 241 pounds. I lost 62 pounds in 4 months. My BMI went from 49 to 38. I did Keto with IF. I have dieted many times over the years and never lost more than 20 pounds. I have never weighed so low in my entire adult life. Whether keto is bad for you, or not(it's not), I am far healthier now than I have been since I was a kid.

Thank you, Dr. Thorn. Every single physician who wakes up to this truth and shares it contributes to the well-being of many! Kudos!

I had flushing, sharp chest pains, and palpitations from age 18-31, eating a low fat, low cholesterol, low sodium diet.
i went vegetarian and it very slightly improved, but then i started experiencing type 2 diabetes symptoms.

6 months after starting a ketogenic diet, all the heart issues went away. All symptoms and markers of type 2 diabetes decreased faster than that. I've been eating this way for 5 years now and would never consider going back.

I just started Keto a week ago. I am a 77 year old slender life long athlete. 5'9" 145 pounds Waist is 29 inches. I spent all my life on a high carb diet. I diagnosed myself with an insulin problem. Haven't been to a doctor since 1986 mainly because I haven't needed one. Other than broken bones from lifestyle like motorcycle racing etc. I never get sick. I don't even get colds. I have been on a low or as little fat as possible all my life but a ton of sugar. This is a 180 change for me as a life long carboholic. So far so good. Probably not in full Keto yet but feel fine and my training has continued at the same rate. I have lost 2 pounds that I didn't think I had to lose. I do my own blood pressure and blood sugar. Thank you for the video.

Wow. That was an excellent talk on colesteral and cardiac health. The bonus is that low carb lifestyle benefits other health concerns also, especially inflammation.
Thanks Doctor!

it is simple carbs, flour finely ground, in baked products, that spikes insulin more than sugar itself. Our diet problems come from the producers of high carb products…cereals, cookies and cakes.
Dr thorn is great at spelling it out. Great video.

My parents Cholesterol was fine on keto. My LDL went from 2 mmol/l to 5 mm/l. I want to check my LDL particle size. And even if my LDL goes super high. I dont is not a good biomarker for cardiovascular disease. Seriously you lose weight, cure insulin resistance, hypertention is reversed and you feel you really want to go back just to lower LDL? I think that fixing obesity, hypertention, insulin resistence is more important than quiting the diet cause of LDL

Great Video. The only thing ‘harmful’ - about the Low Carb/Nutritional KETO Diet: is the travesty to not be an everyday life experience for everyone.

So Simple - so intimidating to so many.

Oh Thanks for a full Video. Great job Dr. Thorn.

It was very decent and humble of Dr. Thorn to "not promise to give a definitive answer" regarding the causes of heart problems. The cholesterol-and-saturated-fat alarmists, like Ancel Keys, the AHA, and the federal government had no qualms at all about declaring their wildest guesses to be the definitive answers.

Topic of high importance and very well presented for a wider community.

I appreciate the information presented in this video. Keto is improving my TG, LDL particle size, A1C, and life in general. I love that you said you would not be definitive. I believe there is something great to be learned from this diet. All we thought we knew about LFHC Calorie restriction diets hasn't worked. We may learn more and have to adjust again. That's how science works.

Good presentation. Maybe because I'm a man, I've always kind of ate a keto style diet because I just have a craving for meat products. If there's no meat it's not really a meal. Bacon, sausage or ham for breakfast. Ham, turkey, hamburgers at lunch time. Steak, chicken, fish for dinner. It just seems to make sense that we were designed to eat maet. The veggies and fruits are just a tasty treat to go along with the meat!

Great video, I came for a little reinforcement, received a lot.

I'M at amost 4 weeks of eating a keto diet, and I felt bad for about 18 hours, between day 3 and 4 (keto-flu I'd guess). Woke up the fourth morning feeling better than I have in a long long time. Chronic joint and muscle pain (it's obvious now this was just inflammation) gone, litterally overnight.. constant hunger and cravings gone. Now I get hungry once a day, and I eat once a day. I wasn't trying for IF or OMAD, just happened naturally..
