The Reverse Plank is a staple in the OPEX Move Assessment.
A few things we look for:
✅ Retraction maintained
✅ Left to right symmetry
✅ Shoulders held in extension
✅ Straight line from ankles to shoulders
✅ 60 second hold
This assessment provides great insight into a client’s abilities in the pull pattern: can they retract their scapula or not? If not, they will have difficulty performing upper body pulling exercises, and they’ll need to first develop motor control in the pattern.
