Great tip for a temporary fix. Ultimately you'd want to remove, disassemble, clean, and lubricate the assembly, but thats dependent on how much time you want to spend on the solution. Nice work!

wish I would have seen this video sooner. my hood literally popped open and smashed my windshield and completely obstructed my view while I was going 70mph on the PA turnpike, and I think this is the exact reason why lol

My 16 Ford focus wouldn’t release. I tried the other methods and that didn’t work. Finally took the inside cabin release apart and pulled cable manually with needle nose pliers . Yeah had first release ( inside cabin release) then the second release found under the hood.

Hello i had same problem, but now the bonnet opening light does not work when the bonnet is open, should i try WD 40 on contacts?

damm i need to try this! is it secure to drive with it if its not fully locked but just latched ?

Mines the opposite. So the latch attaches but the actually mechanism on the hood catch doesnt allow the bonnet to fully close it just springs back up...🤨
