EA App - How to Locate/Move Already Installed Games

1. Copy/move application to desired install location (ensure you have twice the file size available on harddrive as EA App will allocate space again.
2. Enter settings within EA App (click profile icon) - downloads - change install pathway to exact location of the game.
3. Download game and ensure file pathway is correct.
4. EA App will show preparing without a download rate, install times will vary but if you see this it's working.

Any questions please ask, if the launcher changes this method may not work.

I didn't know it was possible to make a worse launcher app than Origin but EA has shattered my extremely low expectations.

I tested a modified version of these instructions to see if there is now a simpler way of doing this
Here's what I found that works for me and saves a few steps by not having to change download locations, as long as you use the default settings there

Copy game backup folder (Battlefield 2042) to default install location
C:\Program Files\EA Games

In the EA app, click download for that game
Verify the location of the download path matches the path of your copied your game backup folder
It should look like this...
C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2042
(if your EA App download settings are at set at default you won't have to change anything)

The "download" will begin and instead of actually download the files it will verify all the files

Funnily enough the old launcher had the option to move the games from one drive to another. This new launcher had that option removed... one step forward, 10 steps backs.

Somehow EA always manages to go backwards...

I'm still amazed that in the year 2023, steam, an app from 2003 is the ONLY game launcher that can natively change the location of your games, hassle free.
