What a weird assumption we have that happiness in some sort of permanent state we achieve rather than emotion that fluctuates like any other emotion more or less regardless of circumstances

I have children and I often think of how much nicer my life would be without them.

I love them but I'd rather have enjoyed my life without them.

I think what contributed to this was having the wrong partner to raise a family with, I virtually had no say in the arrangement yet I'm expected to provide EVERYTHING.

I have kids and a career. I wouldn’t say I’m any more “happier” since having kids but I’m 1000% more fulfilled. But each to their own I say.

Interesting stats, but you also need to wonder how young were those who were asked and if they already have a fulfilling career or would like to get to that point, meaning - have they already reached that company where they would be willing to stay for the next 10 years.

People addicted to technology, nope. Which is a majority of young men 35 years and younger. We have spent several generations taking words like family and fatherhood out of our school system, why are we surprised at the result?

Dude, you have to look at studies that survey people without kids. And not ask people for an opinion but look at independent medical assessment of depression levels.

Having kids isn't about instant happiness. It's about taking on a load of responsibility that can eventually fullfill youin your final days of your life. So it's about having a meaningful purpose in life.
