I purchased a pull online from a reputable reseller salvage yard, had a local shop put in a front seal, axle seals. I changed the old filter, put in new fluid. It worked better than the transmission in the car that I purchased some years earlier. Matched up the year, make, model of the Buick I had. No guesswork, and the $1000 I spent was far cheaper than a rebuild. Ebay would have gotten a complaint and refunded my money if it didn't work 'out of the box'. The only requirement was to prove I did a cooler flush.

Wow..that's crazy..
Got a question for you. Someone told me I needed a transmission rebuilt. When I explained the issue to the second mechanic he said valve body not the transmission..I can't get underneath my car or check to see what needs what. How do I figure out what's going on?? I already paid for one diagnostic and don't want to keep going from shop to shop. Please help. It does slip in and out of gear and performs different when cold. I spun around the block and it definitely stalled out. The 1st mechanic said he found metal shavings in the transmission and said it was more like a silver fluid. I can't see it being that bad because it happened randomly one day and it still drives but stuggles..

Yeah no. How about specifically buy what you need and check the serial number

I'm looking for a 4l60e for my 2000 Silverado. So will only 99_03 transmissions work?

If you're gonna tear it down, just get one from the junkyard. These are a dime a dozen

If you have the ability to tear it down and identify the problem, you should have built it yourself.

Yes waste the money you would've saved buying a used transmission rebuilding the used transmission. Instead maybe just don't buy garbage from an unreliable source who didn't test or warrenty what they were selling.
