My parents rushed quickly then after they divorced my dad and stepmother rushed into a marriage last year. I’ve only recently noticed that I’ve been doing it too. I don’t want the person I have feelings for to be overwhelmed and I guess I have been unintentionally doing that by rushing too quickly. I need to be better friends with him first. I have been doing research on how to take it much slower and this is very helpful. I made a promise to him that I will try to be a better friend. I now realise I noticed I did the same thing with my previous crush. It’s good that now I’m learning to take it slow.

I needed this reminder. I've actually preached this kind of thing a lot, but then I go and have the same type of thoughts lol.

I guess it's harder when you've had little to no experience; the smallest amount of affection and friendliness may turn a lonely person from viewing someone as a friend to romantic interest in an instant, which was something I've experienced in the past year. Where one of my friends put their arms around me (non romantically, more of a close friends thing) which is something I rarely get, and all of a sudden it seemed to trigger romantic feelings.

However in the past few months I've realized that it probably would have been a bad idea. While we get along really well (which made me think there was a chance), I realized that there were more differences between us than I realized that could have lead to some sticky situations. We're still friends, and I still love her, but just not in the same way. You've just got to find a way of still using your brain when romantic feelings arise, which is easier said than done lol.

This coming after your stream on asking your crush out at the start of school was kinda off-putting at first, but after watching, it makes total sense. This is definitely a must-watch for anyone looking for a real relationship, and was a great reminder to keep my true motives in mind and not forcing anything. Thank you for that.
