I'd like to add that the Serpent Scale Shield has a resistance to piercing damage without the vulnerability to fire.

Thanks for the research. Small presentation suggestion: for seekers you put the padded on the left, but for ticks and soldiers you put the padded on the right. Consistency would have been better.

The harnesk is the only one that provides pierce resistance, so to get the most out of it, you should pair it with the highest quality armor you have access to (i.e. iron armor, padded armor), otherwise you're just a walking bonfire waiting to start.

I say this most people dont even think about previous armor as they progres so this is realy good info👍

I've been watching your videos since valheim dropped and the improvement in quality shows. 11/10

Of all of your videos, those based on science, i.e data and numbers, are the best. Brilliant.

I have been using this combo armor for the Mistlands for a while now. As long as you keep the dirty cheap fire resistance potion on you (which you always should in the mistlands) and take a potion immediately when you hear a Gjall, this is hands down the best armor for entering the mistlands.

Can't argue with those numbers when it comes to 1st going into the Mistlands, but the viable options increase once you've got established.
I've recently been running with conventional weapons (sword, buckler, bow and sledge), but with full Fenris set, lvl 2 staff of protection and 1 hp food replaced with eitr food.
At my current skill lvl the bubble is 280 hp, which totally negates the need for the carapace armour set, plus you get the movement speed and fire resistance thrown in from the Fenris set.
I still parry and dodge attacks as usual, but that bubble has saved me from several 3rd party attacks from the mist that even carapace armour would have struggled with.
Gjall in particular seem attracted to the noise of mining, logging and fighting.

The Bonemass buff ... It will save your butt in the Mist no matter what armor you use. Just be sure to keep it active at all times and hot-bar those health potions just in case it does.

Thx for the nice video as always
Fenris Armor Gang mixed with RootHarnesk in my opinion. Even did the Queen Fight with it (+Poison Resist Mead) and to walk the Mistlands when Gjall shows up BarleyWine or switch to FullFenris. Food: LoxPie Salad and Meatplatter is all you need in this build. Works everywhere for me, all Biomes no Problem. Running this since Plains. Perhaps later i will switch to a magic build. I hate being slow so no padded armor for me

I used the combo for the plains. Went Fenris part time in Mistlands. Went back to combo for mine’s. I already got used to carry 2 armour suits depending where in the mistlands I am. Root helmet is also good to switch to when dealing with poison encounters.

Fire resistance mead overrides the weakness from the Root armor . . . you get the full effects of the Fire resistance mead.

Yagluth power protects against fire, lightning, and ice. Great for fighting gjall and dvergr mages. Pop it if you get jumped.
Bonemass works great in the ott mine situations.
Bring a buddy.

Padded Armour set +4 = 100 Armour
Carapace Armour set +2 = 104 Armour

Not until you can do +4 on Carapace Armour update, Padded Armour is the ideal set to venture into Queen with a Black Metal Tower Shield+3

Gjall - "you can hear them when they are nearby" Understatement of the year, lol.

I went with padded then carapace armor, because if the wrong thing hits you wearing the root armor on you just explode.
