I've seen every season of this show MULTIPLE times but it was THIS MOMENT when I realized Duncan doesn't have a unobrow he's just always scowling

I assume Juvie is separated by sex like real jail is, so it’s possible Duncan just straight up has never had any female friends before

If All-Stars was supposed to be the season where Duncan realized his own faults and learnt to accept all of him, the good and the bad, then what the heck was that ending?? There are many things wrong with All-Stars as well as a lot of mispotential. The second they introduced the "Duncan knew Mal from Juvie", things could've gotten SO much more interesting and yet they didn't. Heck, one way to have this "Duncan finally accepts who he is" plotline is by having him attempt to expose Mal in his usual Duncan way, but Mal is over here playing 5D chess and gets him eliminated. Idk, something like that. Anything is an improvement over his actual final moments

Duncan lost his edge because of bad writing

What made Duncan cool was that he didn’t give a shit about a lot of thing . It’s kind of a rule that the more you care and the more you try to hype yourself up the less badass you are. That’s why it doesn’t work in all stars

I think Duncan is the perfect Total Drama example of an anti-hero.

I think the reason Duncan picks on Harold a lot in Season 2 is because Harold rigged the votes to eliminate Courtney, his girlfriend at the time.

Best-Worst season performances by Duncan:
1. Action : epic
2. Island : amazing
3. World Tour : average
4. All-stars : terrible

the real problem is the very concept of villains vs heroes, especially when it's done with realistic characters because in reallife there are no _true_ villains or heroes.. so in other words, to call him a villain just because he's edgy would be profiling him... and that's pretty much where the first step in his character development/downward spiral started, with the question "what does it mean to be a villain in real life?"
and then he ended up doing something illegal because he's a desperate teen searching for a personality trait instead of just allowing himself to be himself..

One of the best total drama characters…well…in the first two seasons

To me It has to be during the beginning of season 2 he lost his edge when all the love triangle between him Courtney and Gwen started he was no longer the bad guy that we knew, for god he was even scared of Courtney to the point that in all stars Courtney just yelled once at Duncan and that’s it Duncan lost his bad boy image

Can we mention of the big impact that Duncan made world tour as well?

He started off quitting the game, leaving as he's never heard again, coming back coincidentally thanks to Courtney and Gwen, not only leading Team Chris to lose and Noah's elimination but creating the most controversial moment of the whole series.

he made the game more tense and easier to play for Alejandro, as he gain alliances with Duncan and Courtney, which the most difficult people to convince knowing how smart and strategical those two can be, he's either hated or being taken as a important role in the season.

Dancan went out sad asf one of the most tragic downfalls of a cartoon character bro really went to prison cause he wanted folks to think he’s a “villain” I think they should have done a story line where he learned to embrace his nicer side that would of been an interesting character arc IMO.

As one of the few people who enjoyed All Stars, I gotta say this was a good analysis of Duncan's character flaws. And yeah, no one ever talks about his sexism, but it does explain that toxic need for appearances. He wants to be the allured and if he wasn't so self absorbed, maybe he could maintain a relationship with the right person. Not sure if this new season will be a Reboot/Revival or just a reboot but it'll be interesting to see what they do with him.

3:45 Harold voted Courtney off in island (He rigged the votes to boot her) Which Duncan was starting to get in a relationship with. So that why he does it in action. He stated in IN A CONFESSIONAL.

I think that, in a show that isn't willing to handle political topics, a "punk rocker" can only ever be a dick. You don't see the reason they do the things they do. They don't break rules and do crimes to fight a bad system, they just do it to do it.

I love it!! Duncan was one of my favorites character of TDA, it's make me sad how he ended like this. Have you considered talk about the love triangle between Gwen, Courtney and Duncan and how it ruined the characters? Some fans used to blame Gwen or Courtney but i think it's something more complicated than that.

Great video Jay. Duncan really is the most complex Total Drama character imo they had so many chances to make him a archetype and then they added another layer. Excited to see what the future holds for the channel, and remember I'm with you all the way
