Windows 11 File Search and Indexing Configuration Options

Windows uses an index to help speed up search results when searching for files and folders on your hard drive. You can go into the Windows settings to change the options regarding how these searches are performed to make your searches faster and to help you find the results you are looking for. You can even enable searching on encrypted files and also searching file contents. Its also the place you would go to delete and rebuild your index.

Switching to Enhanced helped out my issue with not returning results for file extension searches
