Merlin (Welsh: Myrddin, Cornish: Marzhin, Breton: Merzhin) isn't a single person but a title. Myrddin (Mêr thyn) us attested as a semi historical character in Caledonia as Myrddin Wyllt (Wi kl t) (Merlin the Wild) a Bard that went insane after a War of conquest by the Germanic Jutes and Angles.

Please do a series on the Exodus, considered a myth by scholars and also include Yahweh as a dragon, by Mr Mythos or indeed the Albigensians who considered him to be the Negative Power. They paid for it, but never mind that. You could do lots of stuff on Moses, a saintly character for certain...if he did actually write all that incredible action of the first five books! Merlin was a real person. Merlin Emrys was the son pf Aurelius. Aurelius was Arthur of Dyfedd's sister Niniane. Merlin Emrys was Arthur of Dyfedd's nephew. He was also Aedan MacGabran's (Arthur's father) cousin. He was the appointed guardian of Arthur MacGabran of Dalriada (King Arthur). 'Merlin' was a title. Before Emrys of Powys the 'Merlin' was Talesin the Bard, husband of Viviane I del Acqs. The title was passed to Emrys in 540 AD.
