Trying Overhyped Places in Mumbai!! 😳🍦🍕

Mumbai is famous for its culinary gems, but are all of them worth the hype? I ventured out to try three of the most recommended spots you suggested! First up was Benne in Bandra, where their iconic benne masala dosai and tomato-onion chutney stood out as buttery, crunchy, and truly satisfying—definitely living up to its reputation.

Next, I visited Pizza by the Bay for their Bombay Masala pizza. While the flavors and cheese were decent, the base left much to be desired, making it an overhyped experience, especially at that price point.

Finally, I wrapped up at the legendary K Rustom for their banana walnut ice cream sandwich. The crisp wafers, creamy ice cream, and perfectly balanced flavors made it an absolute winner. No overhype here—just pure dessert magic!

Agreed on all. Benne's one looked good, never tried it but want to now. Pizza by the Bay I've heard from so many people is really expensive, just didn't realise it was that expensive, that's insane pricing. And Rustom is pretty good, not overexpensive and they carry good flavours

Going to Rustom is a ritual for me whenever I go to mumbai. It doesn't matter if I am going to Mumbai, Thane or Navi Mumbai. I end up eating Rustoms Ice Cream walking down marine drive.

The fact that you can get quality world class pizza in Italy for 4 euros, just explains how much of a tourist trap that masala pizza is. I get that people would compare the prices to the pizza's in US, but a pizza worth 13 dollars would be 4 times the size of that masala pizza and even dollar slices in NY are bigger than that trap.
