What I like about Gordon is that he's a good actor. He acts tough on shows that require toughness, and gentle on shows where his normal energy suffices. He's also very good with kids. This is why he can appear on any show and leave a mark.

As a Peruvian who has been to Cusco several times, I can tell you that if you stay a couple of days in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, you will feel its energy, its natural flavors and you will disconnect from the modern world. I hope it continues like this for a long time.

I am from the USA and married to a Peruvian. I am blessed to have experienced many of these wonderful treats Peru has to offer. We return to Peru twice a year and try to experience the food of a different region on each trip. Gordon thank you for showing the world a bit of my second country-Rick and David

It's so fun to see Gordon being a good sport even when the locals are doing little pranks with him. He really respects the cultures and values of people he has never met before.

One of South America best chef? That dude owns and runs the best restaurant in the world according to many critiques and Virgilio recently got a second Michelin star for his restaurant on Japan.

That sacred valley place almost made me want to cry, it was so gorgeous. It looks like the Hobbit Village.
Living in southern California with a couple Peruvian joints around, they def have their own cusine to hold up against some of the other Central and South American cultures.
Don't forget how some amazing ingredients originated in Peru, like potatoes.

I remember watching this episode years ago. I love how Chef Ramsay respects the culture, the families and the people. I wish this series would continue. This episode makes me miss Bolivia where I volunteered my medical service and taught for 1.5 years. Chu ño and chocló are my favorite as Bolivia (and Peru) have many, many species of potato and corn (with bigger kernels) than where you would see or eat anywhere else in the world.

I love the part where Gordon said he cooked before Martinez was even born. Funny part Martinez is only 10 years younger than Gordon.
Gordon probably thought Martinez was somewhere in his 30s since he looked so young.

he really is living the life. he sees so much and combines it with not only his hobby and passion, but also his job. i mean he is living the dream.

The hard part is Gordon tends to cook meat medium rare, whereas majority of these folk cook their meat fully cooked. They're not used to the medium rare meat.

Peru, 🇵🇪 also known as the millennial country of CULTURAL DIVERSITY and 5, 000 flavors. It is the only country in the world with at least 8 types of cuisine: Creole, Marine, Andean, Amazonian, Nikkei, Chifa, Vegetarian and Haute cuisine. And CEVICHE is part of the Marine cuisine of Peru. According to the Guines Record, Peru has the record of 491 typical dishes, thus becoming the country with the largest number of typical dishes in the world. It also has 2, 500 native soups, 250 desserts and more than 3, 000 varieties of potatoes. We can feel proud that God has blessed us with a gastronomy that is unique in the world. 🇪🇵🇪🇵🇪🇵🇪🇵🇪
