It’s small stuff like that, that is so cool, and I don’t understand why it gets taken out! They added the special effects and everything!

it's barely a scene and yes it adds like 10 seconds to the runtime and it helps establish Maul as a real threat before the end

I think it should have been left in because for first time watchers of the film it seems like alot more is on the line with Maul nearly getting in the ship

Maul's mistake was jumping over Qui-Gon there..
Obi-Wan is like im gonna have to try that one day.

I like it, but it needs a little tightening up..
I do like Maul jumping up there and getting knocked back down, but I think a few more strikes maybe hitting the ramp itself and throwing up some sparks would have been cool.
And a close up of Qui-Gon's face during the locking of lightsabers would have made it worthy of staying in the movie.
The lightsabers locking with a closeup would also have foreshadowed Obi-Wan and Maul locking up at the end of the movie before Maul pushes him back into the ventilation shaft.

I think it would have been awesome (like poetry lol).

This makes a lot of sense too because I could never understand why Maul was unable to also force jump onto the ship moving so low.

They should’ve kept this scene and the one where Qui Gon cut the probe droid in half

No, because Qui-Gon has the high ground and Maul knows he wouldn't stand stand a chance. He's not as arrogant as Anakin and even he failed supposedly being the strongest of them all.

Honestly it looks like it just lacked a bit of flair, maybe a bit more Choreographing for the climactic end and it could have made it in.
