Honestly, nothing beats cabbage pan fried with a bunch of butter, some onions, and some paprika, it’s the best comfort food you can find, cook it with some egg noodles and kielbasa and you’re golden

As an Asian, a small bowl of fish sauce and some spicy red pepper is a homerun with anything cabbage related

Any vegetable + sambal is the best combination tbh

Cabbage prepared like this will probably retain some of its subtle-sweet flavor, highlighted by salt and fat like a butter sauce. A pan fried fish, like a salmon or tilapia, would pair the crispy cabbage with the texture of something meaty but light, with complimenting flavors like the butter, salt, and lemon.

Blue cheese dressing!

Also great over raw, chilled cabbage in the summer (I’m Aussie and it’s too hot to have the oven on in certain times of the year - that’s why we bbq)

This works very well with other brassicas too, especially Brussels sprouts, which are basically just miniature cabbages.

Roast with the olive oil and salt, but also add balsamic vinegar. Also delicious done to brussel sprouts

Cabbage, raw and shredded paper-thin, with a drizzle of Kewpie sesame dressing is delicious. Bulldog Katsu sauce is also good.

I like making spinach balls:
Zest lemon and place in a cold pan
Add rapeseed oil to pan and set on low heat
Bruise spinach and add to pan
Reduce then ‘drain’ in a cheese cloth
Tasty

Cabbage bacon and chestnuts.
Can leave out the bacon and its still great.
Creamed cabbage is still fairly popular where i live.

A lovely big t-bone as a side dish would top it off.

I like to make it with a tomato or bbq sauce-based glaze. It also pairs nicely with hummus!
