I would just be careful about not giving it enough wraps.

Luthier's knot is the most efficient of them all.

Yep. Way to go. Neat and tidy. For me.. one and half tuner-post lengths (to get 3 winds on the post) with the over-under technique on the unwound strings (high e and b) then the under technique with the four wound strings. Works every time 👍

That's how I've been doing it for 40+ years. Works for me

I never cut strings until the very end

That is actually a good and fast way to string up an electric guitar. A luthiers knot is also a good solution.
I do it different, and more time consuming. But no string end poking out, and no string breakage on the post holes and zero slippage, and a better sound.

2 peg gap for the thin strings for sure down to 1 gap for low E, , , , is how i like it

I've always just hand wound 2 wraps around the post before threading the hole. Then bend the tail at the post and cut, leaving 1/2" or more. Much faster than using a drill winder.

It's okay for your non braided strings(The G, B, E mostly). I used to do it all my strings as well, but you will have to tune it more often. There's a Fender video about how to string your guitar that talks about this method.

BB king always wrapped the string many times around the post, it will stay in tune better.

I think it's best to start with the first and sixth and then second and fifth it works for me

You actually don’t need to go over the top the tension will just hold it in place . I didn’t know about this until I started working at a music store .

This is the way I’ve always done it effectively a locking tuner

Ive strung guitars that way and know professional musicians and tevhs who do that... i see the appeal of the clean look and i think it could improve tuning stability because a knot can continue getting tighter when you stretch the string. I disagree about not needing a knot though. That seems to be the main point of the video, that you dont need to tie it. Those high strings really love to slip if they aren't tied. They'll even slip out of locking tuners. I think its worth tying at least the unwound strings and making sure theyre properly stretched. Thats just how i feel and treat my guitars. If i had one set up this way I would redo it before getting in front of an audience.

Nope not good as pressure point is too high on post and on sharp edge of hole making a break likely so doesn't make any sense apart from speed.
I wrap strings around base of post 2 or 3 timed first then finally through the hole. stays in tune better and adds a little more angle from the nut to the post. You're welcome.
