In this video, I show you how to make a very easy infinite string farm that gives a lot of string and doesn't require a lot of recourses!

This tutorial shows you how to make an EASY Infinite String Farm In Minecraft 1.20, but it also works on older versions! With this farm, you can get tons of string in Minecraft. This is an infinite string farm. You can build this in survival.

Alrigt guys im here to clear everything up for you guys, after struggling for 15 minutes to get it working on 1.20.1 on a PUBLIC server, it finally works. Everyone is saying you have to build it south, so the hoppers have to face south into the chests. so basically north. If u build it north and it doesnt work do it the exact opposite. It should work

I have built this contraption in all 4 directions and I think I have figured out why it sometimes doesn't work. It appears to depend above which trap door the switch is. If you find it not working, just flop the block and switch that activate the trap doors. Hopefully this helps.

4 hoppers = 12 iron + 4 chests = 32 wood

shears = 2 iron
lever = 1 stick = 1 cobblestone
2 string

total:

111 wood
21 iron
5 cobblestone
12 chests

Guys listen if your farm isnt working just change the lever block on another trapdoor it will work

works in 1.20.1 JAVA ONLY
HOWEVER
- make sure you're facing south (the front is where the chests are)
- use F3 and check the left side to find which way your facing.
- follow EXACTLY the placements of how the video shows you!

This farm gets you

4 string per second
14440 string per hour

You can sell string to a fisherman (20 / emerald). That gets you 720 emeralds per hour
That's 11 stacks of ems per hour and 80 emerald blocks per hour.

So... With this farm you can obtain full emerald beacon in 2 hours and 3 minutes!!!

Is anyone else having a problem where they’re breaking the string and flicking the lever and getting an extra one string back? Or in some instances it has worked for a second or two and stopped. I’m on 1.21 Vanilla.

yea i cant turn off the string it just breaks it i am playing on a exatron so that is maybe why

btw if you let to many string bid up it will crash your game until you deleted all items on your ground

Not working on the latest snapshot. instead of keep duplicating the strings it just duplicate the strings 1 times and stops working. probably this has been fixed

Thanks for not specifying java or bedrock but I shouldve assumes based on the trapdoors holding back water

Guys its not about the directions its about the string, what i mean is when u shear it sometimes it breaks and sometimes it glitches and stays there and then reconnects to the tripwire. thats how it dupes it self so just keep shearing until it glitches and then flick the lever. you will have like 1 second to do it so do it quick.

It works but remeber to build it facing south and break the string closeset to the lever

for your info: the CHESTS have to be facing south from the rest of the machine. the mechanism faces north. its like an arrow that faces north.

Simply Amazing and it works on Java. At first I thought I had to place the machine looking south ( chests nearest me ) that failed. I then rebuilt it opposite me looking north ( chests nearest me ) and it's amazing Thx.

Ok, to clarify for everyone, this glitch works in all versions above 1.18, but only Vanilla/Bukkit/Spigot/Paper, not Forge or Fabric (not sure about fabric), but regardless, make sure the chests are south from the hoppers, and the chests are facing west. This means that the whole farm has to face SOUTH, NOT NORTH. Also, make sure to break the string while facing east yourself.
Also, you have to time switching the lever perfectly, so don't give up if it doesn't work first try.

In my experience, the farm works in Forge, but can't be built in Forge.

Worked first try for me. Start out by facing south. chests go in the top left corner when facing south.
