Don’t caulk the top of the baseboard like that. Now you have to paint the wall. Put blue painters tape on the wall at the exact height of the baseboard, then after you caulk peal back the tape and you have a perfect caulk line without getting caulk on the wall.

Finally, A video that shows when you actually REMOVED the Baseboards and REAPPLIED them. 10 Thumbs Up 👍 if you only knew how many videos I’ve had to watch and at the end they never reapplied the baseboards or the baseboards will already be on the wall

I like this video very much because it does not pretend to be perfect and also it sure is real world scenario rather than some other videos where every wall is true and plumb and everything fits together perfectly

question. I have have problem where drywall seems to be ripped off from when I pulled off previous glued baseboard kinda like what it looks like at 5:48. Do I not need to use compound or anything to fix it before I put the baseboard back on?

Really like how you used the caulk in the corners and along the top. Thanks for sharing!

The need to have a table saw like that takes it from a diy project to a contractor level project!

Thanks for sharing!!! I am painting my home and will need to replace a few small pieces of baseboard like in this video. You saved me a huge headache trying to figure this out with just verbal instructions.

Would the entire baseboard have to be repainted or just the section that was repaired?

So I just bought an older little three bedroom house and it was previously used as a rental. They put the rubber molding like you put in kitchens in the living room. I removed it yesterday and it did rip through dry wall paper and the dry wall is a little crumbly now all along base board. How should I repair this before putting up new wood base boards ?

So here's my dilemma, one of my baseboards is not even attached! It's in the pantry closet so not a huge deal but I still want to attach it. I don't have a nail gun so can I use some of that paste stuff you used to make it stick? And if so then what exactly do I need to get?

Great info for a beginner like me. I have a question. I would like to replace my basic baseboards with updates ones. Right now, we have a carpeted living room and plan to eventually install engineered wood floors. Should we wait to update the baseboards until after the new floors are installed? Or does it matter? Thanks!

I never use caulking to glue corners I always use wood glue and when I shoot pin nails I shoot them in so they cross one another to help from pulling out... If I have a gap I fill it in with Light Spackle and when it dry's you can sand it smooth or use a wet rag to wipe off the excess. It also fill's in the nail holes better than using caulk which you can't sand and make smooth ! you will just have a mess trying to fill in holes with caulk.
