Star Citizen: How to Choose Your Starting Location in 3.15.0

In 3.15 you must choose your starting location in Stanton right from the start, a decision with some distinct advantages and disadvantages depending on your choice. In this Video I go over the things you need to consider.

New Babbage would be my personal pick, mostly because I just adore the look of the area. It isn’t the best when it comes to choice of weapons or armor, but at least my frames don’t tank there and it still looks pretty.

I'm choosing New Babbage. It has a hospital, it's easy to navigate, it doesn't take long to get to the spaceport, and doesn't take long to get out of atmosphere, plus it has Omega Pro and Centermass for ship weapons, and Centermass for personal weapons. Plus it has an 890J mission up in space that makes a quick buck if you're skilled and/or go with a friend.

Babbage for me cause of the industrial ship components, health food and all the meds for sale. My prefered PVP weps are scattered at stations. This dang channel is so easy to understand, all meat. I like that.

I really enjoy New Babbage on MicroTech as my home... but I really think that all the planets/locations have good things going for them in each of their own qualities.
I would agree and say that it is very much a personal preference and that one should just go with what feels right (also it can be changed, so if one changes their mind at a later stage, it's really not that permanent) :)

Great video and great question. I'm thinking I would start in New Babbage. Mostly because of the tier 1 hospital and straight forward layout for getting around.

I usually used Area18 as a starting location for each patch, exactly because of its fine selection its stores offer and the neo-industrial-mechanist brutalism architectural style. I did not know it does not have Tier 1 medical facilities, I just assumed all major LZs have access to it. Anyway, beginning this patch I will choose Orison and might relocate to GrimHex as I like the easy access to everything there and the views Crusader offers.

Good old Port Olisar seems to have the edge. Amazing job on continuing to grow your subscriber base in such a short period of time. Quality content gets you there. “Answering the question ray just asked a few seconds ago” is a good one.

I'm going with Orison because I'm going to make PO my base of operations for bounty hunting. It takes about 3 mins for an avenger to clear atmosphere and most of my deaths are going to be straight back to hospital. If I was anywhere else, I'd have to QT back over to PO in a small ship and that'd take longer than clearing atmo and just hoppin over to PO.

Answering the question Ray just asked a few seconds ago, I think I am going with Area 18. I love the layout and the look. It has 1 tram to deal with, and the layout is very compact compared to other areas.

Well, in classic DFA tradition -- some of us who were present in the discord last night, decided on Lorville, because it's central (in my case, forgetting ENTIRELY that I can't buy weapons there). And some of the folks who came on later, chose Orison. Gotta love spur-of-the-moment decision making! XD

This is exactly the video I was wanting. I had been torn between Lorville and Area18, leaning towards availability of missions it prefer. However, after this video I have decided on Area18. As inventory is a bigger logistics issue than traveling to, the still nearby, Hurston for bounty and bunker missions.
