One really useful thing i noticed recently is that, when you land at a planetary outpost, the building that has the buy/sell terminal is the one with the sort of orange, c-shaped antenna sticking out of it, usually with some lights on it. Saves a lot of frustration and opening multiple airlocks when you know that.

If your ship is getting blown over by the wind on the Microtech moons - land with your nose facing the wind.

Keeping your velocity limiter in the blue makes your ship more manoeuvreable

I love that people are still forgetting to put their helmets on before going outside and into the vacuum of space. One of my favorite memories from my first experience in Star Citizen in 2016. LOL

"Your first crime stat will not be intentional"

I was so careful, and as I was preparing to log off the game assigned a player the landing pad I was already on, destroyed both ships, and gave ME the crime stat for killing them.

The pirate life chose me I suppose

Really valued your Bf3 gun reviews back in the day. Think you'll be really good for SC. Looking forward to it.

This was very good. Been playing for a while and you have nailed the most common issues most players encounter. Thank you for covering this game.

An SSD is a must. I started out with just an HDD and even though I could technically play, I had a multitude of extra bugs (which went away with an SSD) and you'll need to spend about 10 minuets every time you travel to a new location just standing in place for the game to fully stream the data to your drive.

Huge tip: If you intend to make millions quickly make your first big money purchase a prospector. As a fellow new player myself I know how tempting it is to save for a dream ship but I went from investing all of my money on the Prospector to making that money back in a few days.

It’s beautiful to see that kind of exposure for Star Citizen. The Mustag Alpha gets some fixes in 3.17.2 and will allow for box missions (fingers crossed).

It’s really exciting to see more well-known gaming channels beginning to make more serious content about the game. This hasn’t really happened in years, but now it’s starting to pick up and I can only guess that’s because SC is starting to look and feel more and more like the game it’s meant to be.

Thanks LevelCap! See you in the ‘Verse some day, hopefully.

Another tip, power management. When dogfighting always all power to shields, only have power to engines or weapon's when you need to recharge. Shields re-charge when not hit for a few seconds. The larger ships have shield facings, so you can divert more power to the front, rear or sides using the numpad keyes

Probably the best starter video for Star Citizen I've seen. I expect this to be the defacto standard starting video for SC. LevelCap and Ollie are the reason why as a backer from 2012 I built a PC and started playing. Everything in this video described my first 20 hours of in game play, great advice.

What other Star Citizen gameplay or mechanics would you guys like a guide for?

OMFG as a Noob it's been so frustrating trying to accomplish missions, head out, only to be greeted with being on the wrong side of the planet to get to the location. I've been so pissed with the time I have to waste to then get around the other side. Never knew about the icons telling you that such is the case.

Same tip with setting up on a orbital station instead of city; I'll be doing that the next time I fire up the game because it does drain so much time just trying to get out to a location (bed > city > transport system > terminal > hangar > atmosphere > finally to space).

Thanks for making this vid for us SC Noobs o7

7:30 correction: you keep reputation. You just need to do contract evaluation missions again, but your overall reputation doesn’t reset. Also you keep everything but consumables, such as ammo and medpens.

Thank you. This is the best video I have seen. My first crime stat was not stopping for inspection above Microtech 😅

Also, go to settings and turn on padlocking. This will allow your character's head to always track the target ship wherever they go. Good for missiles since they use your visors to spool up and to always have vision of your target. You can add a keybind for it under Vehicle-Targeting which I highly recommend you do so instead of leaving it on at all times so you can turn it off when you don't need to keep looking at the enemy.

Holding F and using the WASD keys to swap between consoles was the best tip ever given to me.

Excellent video thank’s. Might finally be trying this in a few weeks, although I’m still not completely off the fence. Every time I manage to talk myself into it, I see or read something that makes me think “wait….what?”. If this is the time though, these tips have been really useful.

I've been playing SC for years and I still learned quite a bit from this. Many thanks, LC!
