The Navy was already not doing well. Out here in the Pacific, the amount of training the air wings were doing was already WAY below what it was just 10 years ago. Back then there would be multiple trips out for weeks before deployment, where the planes would be flying continually. Now it's almost nothing.

The military has been diverse even in Jim Crowe days because it had to be when you're going to war. Facing death and a common enemy tends to do a good job of making people not give a shit what race you are. So the focus should be on making sure warriors don't die by staying combat ready. But... that's obvious tho right.

I did 5 years in the Navy 🇺🇲. One of the reasons I didn't re-enlist is because they are more focused on getting the job done and not being combat ready. There's quite a few unfit people who couldn't even drag me to cover if I got my leg blown off. Everyone gets a trophy now.

I was in the navy for 4 years and this doesn't surprise me in the least, on more than one occasion I heard officer's refer to the navy as a business and it still disgusts me to this day
