weBoost Drive Reach OTR Installation into 2021 GMC 1500 AT4
Показать описание
This is a step-by-step installation of the weBoost Drive Reach OTR into a 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4. The installation includes the main unit which is current sitting in the storage bin underneath the rear seats temporarily until a permanent box is built. The antenna which is installed on the center post of the bed rack. The interior antenna which weBoost recommends on the side of the seat. Well I don't like decorations hanging all over my car so I contacted weBoost, they do not recommend hiding it under any of the interior plastic (my inhibit signal) so I elected to fit it into my cup holder where I believe it's pretty discreet. I will caution any similar vehicle owners that there is not much access under the center console if you have the Bose system. Trying to run the simple internal antenna wire from the cup holder to the passenger side was a nightmare. As for the actual performance of the weBoost, it works. Around town I've noticed a bar or two increase in connection level. I haven't taken it out of town yet but updates will follow.
Update (1/9/2023): I've been driving around with the weBoost for about a year now. I would say it's not worth the money. Driving around the Las Vegas valley with the phone sitting on the receiver, I lose signal and drop calls just like anyone else. This is the least dependable electronic device I have.
Now what I would recommend and it works like a charm is the Starlink. That thing is the bomb!
