New Kitten Comes Home | His First Day

Purrrr. We're bringing home our new kitten. Meet Mango, a male British Shorthair cat. Scared at first, this feline quickly got curious about his new surroundings. This is a little compilation of his first day home.

We noticed a few comments about putting Mango straight in the litter box. This was actually a recommendation by an experienced veterinarian. The box and the litter are the exact same type from where he previously stayed. By immediately putting him there, he finds himself in a familiar place. This reduces his stress, and it becomes a good place from where he can start exploring.

What a sweetie. His little face is looks so very serious. I think he will be a chocolate cuddle kitty. Confession: this is the first chocolate kitty I have seen. He is adorable, but I still love my little ginger kitty.

They are so cute when they hide when they first get to their new home. My kitten would hide behind the stove every time I came near that first night. I left him alone, allowed him to get used to things and within an hour I heard him playing with a jingle ball I left on the carpet. He eventually came to me, jumped up and fell asleep on my chest, purring away.

So cute. I guess kittens are just born with different personalities. Upon arrival, my cat just patrolled the house like he owns it.

My kitten stepped in the first time like "this is my home!"
She supposed to be my wifes cat, but our souls bond together the first night. We slept on the couch and her paw was on my face. Since then we are inseparable. Can't describe magic with words.

When we brought our two home they were the most confident kittens I have ever seen. I don’t know if that was because they were brothers and were the entire litter, or it was because the rescue had done such a brilliant job of socialising them but they were like "Right this is ours, so is this, and this, we'll also have that, you can bring us food…"

One of my Grand-Kitties is named Mango. She is a Balinese-Siberian cross. A big, white-grey Floof. We had her from 10 to 19 weeks old, because my son and DIL were having a house built, and their house wasn’t ready yet, so she has a special place in our hearts. Your Chocolate baby is just adorable. So lovely to see her fall asleep beside you. Secure and happy.
