yeah that's kinda true, I also think someone is following me at home all the time even tho they is actually no one except my parents and brother. Plus I also think people are trying to manipulate me so...
I also think its mostly genetic since my mom used to have paranoia which is cured I think

I can’t thank you enough, you explained everything so well, and when you explained PPD all of it matched with what I’m paranoid about.

Question: is It possible that PPD is more common in children of people with schizophrenia because of the way those parent’s raise their children & not necessarily a genetically inherited disorder?

My grandmother has schizophrenia The symptoms you mentioned align closely with my own mother’s behavior

Childhood experiences: I couldn’t scratch my nose when being lectured, she saw it a a f*ck you; she believe our home is bugged with listening devices. We always tip toed & whispered at home (I still am working on voice projection). That we’re being drugged through out food. She confessed to me that she believes my little brother had a twin that the hospital somehow gave away behind her back. I’ve had to end friendships bc she said they were spies. She also believed that me & my two brothers have tried to kill/poison her on different occasions.

It was a very stressful environment. My mother has also shown many vulnerable narcissistic traits, which can have paranoid ideations.

I’m worried to discover some borderline personality disorder traits in myself. I have a few paranoid ideations about people pretending to like or tolerate me. I intend to find a therapist i feel comfortable around to discuss this with further. I am worried about these symptoms devolving into something more serious

Can you do a video about people with BPD. I think I have it as I’ve been watching other videos here in YT. I don’t feel too comfortable disclosing this to my therapist or psychiatrist because I feel like they think I’m just trying to find something wrong with me… I don’t think they take me too seriously. Or maybe I just don’t open up enough?

Hey Ana,

what if someone is in the cluster A, (would put him in schizoid/schizotypal) but grew into behaving extremely paranoid, holdign grundges and reading into things and as a consequence is cutting everyone off.
When I visited him, he had removed his antenna from his phone cause he was hearing voices (from the streets, probably distorted noise) that told him they know of his notes on there.
He also linked semingly random events as evidence that people are watching him and plotting against him.
He has fear they want to harm him and are watching him which is why he isolates and is not leaving his home.
He was behaving very restless and disttessed. He did not eat for 5 days duo to not feeling hungry, also seems Anhedonia and flat affect. It seems psychotic at first glance to me, if he is in psychosis, medication would help him.
But the psychosis might drive him into acting extremely paranoid so how does one differenciate PPD from paranoia duo to psychosis or comorbid PPD mixed with other cluster A disorders?
For me as a non professional it presents the same symptoms. Maybe a schizophrenic would experience more severe hallucinations but I read that schizotypal can go into psychotic episodes or severe depression can cause psychotic phases.
Is it recommended to treat psychotic episodes if caused by other disorders with antipsychotics?
I know it's been about one year since he first started having delusions about people wanting to harm/kill him.
I can not distinguish if he is in psychosis, he would need to be put in treatment because he can't recognise his delusions.
But if he is PPD (and also can't recognise his delusions) is it even possible to treat with antipsychotics?
Because he is simply interpreting the actions of others wrong, or reading into them, distorted. Would love to hear your input.

thank you so much. Where would be the line between the pattern you describe as PPD and just general mistrust / pessimistic world view like thinking that everyone is generally bad and doesn't want the best in you?

I have pretty much all the symptoms of paranoid personality disorder. But the only person in my life that isn’t affected by it it’s my boyfriend, is it possible that a person with PPD can have a person in their life that is totally immune to their paranoid personality disorder?
And other people in my life have varying degrees of distrust in my paranoia, others higher and others lower… can it be like this as well?
My boyfriend lives overseas, I don’t have no paranoia thoughts when it comes to him whatsoever, I trust him fully.
Now here I live with my sisters, her boyfriend, and I’m extremely paranoid of them, much less paranoid when it comes to my little sisters though.

Like when you think someone is talking about you and take a picture of you and do something with it is that paranoid disorder too

Is there a alternative med for paranoid personality disorder other than anti psychotics?
