I just gave a ride to a person with PPD, and saw those 5 traits on full display. By the time I dropped off this person, I was almost emotionally drained -- purely a one way conversation. Thx a mil, Dr Grande for a very timely & refreshing petspective. God bless.

Just because I’m paranoid, it doesn’t mean people aren’t assholes…

Dr Grande, is Paranoid Personality Disorder something one is more likely to just have or is it something that can be caused? I have PTSD with anxiety, depression, insomnia and a myriad of other things. I don't think paranoia was ever listed as part of my diagnoses but if I don't have my meds I literally won't sleep because of fear that the person who hurt me will come and attempt to hurt me again, even though it's been 18 years now. I know you can't diagnose and you're not MY clinician, but I am interested in knowing if paranoia can be a part of the PTSD or if it would be it's own separate diagnosis?

That’s the thing about victims of narcissistic abuse. When they talk about their experiences, they are considered paranoid. That’s called crazy making by the narcissist.

It would be fantastic to see you discuss Kretschmer’s Sensitive Paranoia. Patients with this disorder are often misdiagnosed with Schizophrenia.
