I just ripped mines out like this, couldn’t put it back together so I Cut out the plastic bowl on the joystick. Works perfectly

It’s nice that could change the ring too. When I played on my ps3 back in the day the ring of the stick would be sanded away and the analogue stick would look like a tree if a mountain man stopped halfway of chopping it down.

You made this look WAY easier than it actually was o.O. Even though it took me like 5 minutes to get the thumbstick back in place I'd still rather do this than take apart the whole controller. Something SOMEHOW got under the thumbstick and was causing my stick drift. Little bit of air to clean the analog directly while I moved it up/down/left/right, place thumbstick back, no more stick drift, thanks. ^.^

Confirmed to fix my friend's stick, didn't line up in the thumbstick hole, goes in easier if you put the black ring on after the thumbstick by the way. Overall saved time and thanks a lot!

Can confirm this works like a charm. Just buy the red tool also, makes it waay easier. Personally I found it easier to put the black ring back on after changing the stick, but that just my opinion. Overall thumbs up!

i will say this, the intructions were really unclear even with the video and most people dont have that tool to align the the stick in the controller to the actual thumbstick because it took me abt 3 tries before i actually got it in right. and there is a possibility of you getting it in but onto the stick. one of the alteratives of using his tool are the hook thing on the back of many tv remotes cause your finger cant fit under there when you actually need it to align. or a very dull pencil because if sharp itll prolly break the stick and leave lead inside your controller. but overall it was somewhat easy but after all it worked for me. and for the other people saying it broke your controller it might be because you were putting the thumbstick IN the direction of the Playstation button while on the video you see he does it AWAY from the button maybe since you were pushing it down so much it broke the controller. but if you do, do this method be careful alot of things could go wrong.
